Future hope: Jesus rose to a resurrected body so we will rise to a resurrected body.  Present encouragement: Jesus crucified our sin in his mortal body on the cross. 

The Apostles' Creed says, "I believe in the holy catholic church." Why do we say this when we aren't Catholic?

The Apostles' Creed reads, "He ascended into heaven." With all the focus on Jesus' incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection, His ascension is often an afterthought. Why do we need an ascended Jesus?
