Formula 1’s race director Niels Wittich has left the sport with immediate effect, the FIA and Wittich himself announced on Tuesday. While the official statement suggested Wittich quit the job, reports have now found the German has actually been sacked by the FIA.

Former F1 champion Damon Hill has suggested that Max Verstappen is not capable of racing fairly, following Verstappen’s latest clash with Lando Norris at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
