The Caribbean Examinations Council has officially launched the Caribbean Technical Education Certificate (CTEC) modular approach following a successful mathematics pilot involving more than 2,535 candidates across 15 Caribbean territories. The pilot recorded an 88% acceptable-grade rate, with students able to complete modules progressively toward the full qualification.

The Ministry of Education has introduced roving mathematics teachers to provide direct support to educators in schools. The initiative uses a train-the-trainer approach, with specialists observing teaching practices, identifying gaps and helping teachers strengthen mathematics instruction.

For the first time, hundreds of ancillary workers in Saint Lucia’s education system are receiving remuneration for the month of August. The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening the education workforce, as Government continues its broader education reform agenda with a focus on the people and systems that support learning.

The Department of Education and Digital Transformation has completed the island-wide distribution of $500 bursary cheques to parents of 1,900 students who sat the 2026 CPEA examinations.  A total of $980,000 was distributed across 10 centres to assist families with students' transition to secondary school.
