As the sheep of Jesus’ pasture, to find your life is to lose it, but to lose your life for Jesus’ sake is to find it. Those who lose everything to gain Christ, gain everything.

Romans 6:15-23

As the sheep of Jesus’ pasture, to find your life is to lose it, but to lose your life for Jesus’ sake is to find it.

As the sheep of Jesus’ pasture, we must fear God, not man. 

As the sheep of Jesus’ pasture, we must expect persecution, we must trust His purposes in persecution, we must rely upon the Spirit to endure persecution; as it goes with the Shepherd, so it goes with the sheep.

Our compassionate Lord’s mission expansion through the disciples extends to the lost sheep, depends upon His Father’s provision, and results in division.

Our Lord is compassionate toward the helpless; thus, His compassion compels us to a life on mission.

Sermon Text: 1 Peter 1:22-25

Our Lord is compassionate toward the hurting and helpless; thus, our motive for missions is compassion, our means for missions is prayer, and our mode for missions is people.

The New Wine of the New Covenant is sight for the blind, speech for the mute; all the while blinding those who “see” and silencing those who “speak.”

The New Wine of the New Covenant is the touch of cleansing and resurrection life to all who come in faith.

Jesus redefines fasting as the joyful longing for His return, a weapon of joy unfit for mournful practices.

Jesus has come for all those who mourn their sin and rely on Him alone for mercy.

Jesus alone has the authority to forgive sin, therefore you must come to Him in faith despite any obstacles.

Your confidence in the face of dark spiritual powers now and forever is Christ–our Victor.

Your confidence in life’s storms, is not your ability to hold onto Jesus but His ability to hold onto you as Lord over Creation.

Genuine faith in Christ produces radical, uncompromising discipleship that prioritizes His Kingdom above our own–No retreats, no reserves, and no regrets. 

Jesus’ grace has the power to heal the sick, restore the lame, and usher in the authoritative kingdom for those who come in faith.

Jesus’ grace has the power to transform you regardless of how unclean, isolated, or dead you are inside when you come in faith.

We are compelled to missional living which values the Great Commission and Great Commandments in the rhythms of thinking globally by prayer, giving, sending; and acting locally by personal evangelism and loving the city.

We are committed to kingdom learning by valuing our Kingdom-family as Kingdom ambassadors in the rhythms of “one-anothering”, relational discipleship, and “deaconing” Christ’s body. 

We are a gospel loving people who value gospel centrality, clarity, and fluency in the rhythms of corporate, family, and personal worship.

Jesus Christ, God’s Glorious Word “enfleshed” to reveal God to us; God’s Superior Word speaks a better word to us.

The Incarnation prompts us to marvel at His humiliation, worship in His exaltation, and share His mind toward others.

Jesus Christ, God’s Word from the beginning, is Life that illumines darkened hearts by the Holy Spirit.
