Are you motivated by the Gospel, if not, why not?

Not everyone who might expect to share in the celebration of the reign of God at the end of the age will be included. Some will exclude themselves by their obsession with their worldly concerns, showing their contempt for God who invited them.

"And he said to them, 'Take care and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Luke 12:15

In your mind, are people obstacles to accomplishing your goals in life, or do people serve a key role in God's purpose for your life? (Depends on how your day is going, right?) In the parable of the good Samaritan, Jesus offers more than a definition of a neighbor; he offers a definition of “loving my neighbor.”

"Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, love little." Luke 7:47

Those who are unforgiving can expect the same from God. God’s mercy must not be treated lightly. The principle is responsive & reflective.

By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. John 15:8

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1

Three individuals share about how they have seen God's grace, transformation, and mission play out in their lives. This reminds us that the same God who worked in Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph's life is actively at work in ours. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Each of us would like to be successful in life. Each has dreams that (s)he hopes to achieve. Our problem is that too often our idea of success is not biblical. Our culture defines success primarily in finances & power &, of course, “happiness.”

“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6 NLT) Summary: Too often the significance of the Resurrection is overlooked or distorted. Too often it is a celebration of spring. I believe that there are many who say that they believe in the resurrection of Christ but do not take it seriously.

Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! Luke 19:38

I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. Ephesians 4:1

Chapter 24 explains how Isaac got his wife, Rebekah. Sarah has been dead for three years. Abraham is 140 years old. His concern at this age is to make sure Isaac marries a godly woman. The focus of the narrative is not on Abraham, but on his servant as he follows God’s guidance to the woman God has chosen for Isaac. The emphasis is on the sovereignty of God.

Abraham said, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they went both of them together. Genesis 22:8
