Since last year we have been hearing about the New Mutants which has been described as a superhero horror genre film based on the Marvel Comics X-Men properties which up until just recently was a FOX Entertainment property.

I had one of those days where I was actively looking for something interesting in the movies to review. We just came off a big weekend with Captain Marvel we still have a week before US and SHAZAM so what can be seen that is even remotely interesting?

 I am four episodes into Doom Patrol and I will tell you this has to be one of the strangest (actually a mind trip) yet satisfying series I have ever watched.  Netflix released 10 episodes of its new series The Umbrella Academy in its post Marvel/Netflix Collaboration era. Based on a Dark Horse series of comic books The Umbrella Academy follows the exploits of 7 unique super powered children and their training/childhood by their “father” Reginald Haargreves. 

I wasn’t expecting anything from this movie.  I have never seen the source material and really didn’t have any expectations going in.  So what can you expect from a movie that my original thought when I saw the trailer were: “Why did they use the iPhone big eye big head filter”.  

When Avengers: Endgame hits theaters in April we can pretty much say goodbye to the connected Marvel Movies and get ready for the cash grab. I am a big Marvel fan do not get me wrong and with Disney’s acquisition of the Fox Properties the Marvel Universe is almost complete but connecting all the loose ends is actually too monumental of a task. 

APEX Legends beats out Fortnight…Who cares?  It just makes me think is it time to put an end to these Battle Royale games?  YouTube is thinking of removing the thumbs down button?
