Alice and Doug
Going Terribly
Imagine the most adult children you know – discussing the environmental impact of menstruation cups one minute and making poop jokes the next. That’s Doug and that’s Alice. Two friends who decided to Always Be Recording. He’s a filmmaker, and she’s a college English professor. Their chemistry is accidental. And so is this auditory compendium of their verbal musings. You are invited to join their lighthearted conversational romps through all of life's absurdities.

Ep. 276: Two '90s Zambian Teenagers in a Terrible Fundraiser 13.01.2026 50:53
Let’s talk about poop, baby. Let’s talk about you and me. ...and poop. This week Alice and Doug consider what they’d do for money, share their Christmas gifts, and, perhaps most importantly, discuss some really crappy factoids. And Doug will still not diagnose Alice’s incessant flatulence. Get ready for plenty of jenkem, vagus nerves, and dung beetles in this one, folks. Other discussion topics...
Ep. 275: Two Long Distance Workout Buddies in a Complicated Male Movie 06.01.2026 1:04:44
Alice has gotten so crafty lately! She’s settled in nicely to her half old lady/half little kid era. Meanwhile, Doug dabbles in mimery while pining for a well crafted sandwich. Also, it’s the 32nd anniversary of the (obviously unfortunate) Nancy Kerrigan assault. Doug and Alice talk about it for a bit, even noting the date of the attack. And it never even occurs to them that it was on this very...
Ep. 274: Three Maltese Falcons in an Attempt at Staying Famous 30.12.2025 1:38:24
In the last episode of the year, Alice and Doug welcome Jeremy Brailsford to the show. It’s an episode of stress tests, (somewhat) current events, resolutions, and … more animal-related band names than you can shake a stick at. It’s a long one! So toss on a diaper and settle in. Enjoy the show! Other discussion topics may include: - Choppin the corgi - IBPOOPN - Can you make eyeballs out of gall...

Ep. 272: Two Green Eyed Bug Women in a 2000s Soccer Movie 16.12.2025 54:46
Doug has had some really weird dreams about Alice lately. Read that however you'd like, but you don't know the half of it until you listen to this episode. Plus, celebrate the 100th birthday of living legend song and dance man, Dick Van Dyke! And are Alice and Doug going to get a pet tamarin...? Other discussion topics include: - The 1940s weren't ready for homo sapiens - Hot take: Is...
Ep. 271: Two Rented Carpet Cleaners in a Sourdough Wagon 09.12.2025 50:29
Doug and Alice had a plumbing issue this past week. But while that might have been pretty crappy (heh), let's focus on the more fun parts of life - such as Alice's radio play coming up this weekend! Or Doug sharing news on new snacks everyone can go out and try! Or the fact that nobody had to poop in a litter box this past week! It truly is the season to be thankful. Other discussion topic...
Ep. 270: Two Kitty Surprises in a Half Naked Half Marathon 02.12.2025 58:21
It's time for two months worth of It Went Terribly! And boy, is it ever a-propro in this one. Doug shares a story about an NBA player who loved (in absolutely no particular order) chicken wings, naked women, and his deceased grandfather - all set against the backdrop of the global COVID pandemic. And Alice shares a list of her favorite soccer movies from the 2000s, plus educates us all on the...
Ep. 269: Two Planes, Trains, and/or Automobiles in an Athletic Movie Marathon 25.11.2025 47:16
'Tis the season to be thankful. And Doug and Alice sure try their absolute hardest. But why should you be thankful for manufacturers? For injuries? For...ears? Also, Alice is hooked on this new series she's been watching - cyber security training videos. So there's that. Other discussion topics may include: - Gigantic, small dangling spiders - How to fight off a case of Hepburn - The c...
Ep. 268: Two Virtual Maestros in a Nude Sporting Event 18.11.2025 44:33
Is Alice autotuned this episode? Or is her voice just all mangled due to a recent illness? And, if the latter, *should* we have autotuned her? Elsewhere, hear about how Alice and Doug almost kinda potentially could have sorta possibly considered getting another cat (maybe). But they apparently already have a pet radioactive spider, so that should be good for now. Other discussion topics may includ...
Ep. 267: Two Canned Beef Monuments in a Near-Death Scarf Incident 11.11.2025 56:04

Ep. 265: Three Killer Tumbleweeds in a Graveyard of Rock Legends 28.10.2025 1:08:20
It's Halloween! *cue the screams, moans, and...baby sounds?* You know the drill. Our favorite Halloween aficionado Kevin Roach is back in the studio to play some seasonally inspired games. And, inevitably, Doug will make him say some totally inappropriate things in this year's annual horror skit. Here's a spoiler: Frankenstein has never been worse. Another spoiler: 59:16 in might be the single fun...

Other discussion topics may include: - Santa Claus Sting - Dead meat on a lost train - "Marlboro&q...
Ep. 263: Two Tasting Tongue Dogs in an Infant Bodysuit 14.10.2025 47:21
Woman down! This week's episode involves the tale of how Alice nearly met her end thanks to some kitty litter, a trash can, and a potential minor loss of flexibility. She also almost did a crime, so it's been a big week. Meanwhile, Doug envisions a baby Joe Pesci and...researches whether or not jock straps are trademarked? Okay, so it's not potential death or imprisonment, but it's...

Other discussion topics may include: - Doing an audiobook for t...

Other discussion topics may include: - Trying to make "going giraffe" happen - Why you don't w...

Come roll some r's, hit some hard g's, and keep your k's in line in this really strange installment of Going Terribly. Other discussion topics may include: - Sailor talk: innovative or ignorant? - Cereal boxe...

This week Doug and Alice spend a lot of time chatting about old teen sitcoms involving twins, retired football stars, bands, evil twins, and fantastic(?) theme songs. They cap off the episode by trying to update an old classic singalong for the modern child. In between there are yard sales, heartburn, and...long burgers? Other discussion topics may include: - When was Sir Mix-a-Lot knighted? - A b...
Ep. 253: Two French Lickers in an April Fools Theme Park 05.08.2025 1:03:57
It's almost a great day with Doug, as he researched the wrong day to start the episode. Whoops. Other than that, Alice laments the times of her class/grass conscious youth while Doug experiences his first conscious bout of xenophobia. It's also "It Went Terribly" week, so they correct some stuff, explain some things, and undoubtedly get everything else wrong. Other discussion top...
Ep. 252: Two Everyday Playboys in a Lunch Time Bathroom Stall 29.07.2025 43:11
Danger Will Robinson! Alice has a story about a somewhat defective clock shaped heart purse. Or a heart purse in a clock. Or a ...purse heart clock. Whatever the case, Doritos and Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor are somehow involved. Elsewhere, there's something in Doug's hair, and he can't take the heat outside as well as his septuagenarian neighbor. But at least he has his incred...
