THE PROVERBS OF SOLOMON are a collection of short sayings organized to deal with specific topics.  This week, we read through proverbs dealing with wealth and poverty, guarding one’s speech, hard work and laziness, and pride and humility. 

WISDOM IS NOT a female deity who’s been written out of Jewish and Christian theology over the last 3,000 years.  This week, we study three more proverbs dealing with the value of wisdom and explain why “wisdom” has female pronouns in scripture. It’s tempting, when looking at the state of the world, to conclude that God has abandoned us to the wolves—evildoers who think nothing of enriching themselves at the expense of everyone else. The psalms in this week’s study are a reminder that God has not forsaken us, and that those who trust in Him will ultimately be rewarded while for those who do not things will not end well.
