Giftings and Callings

Unnecessary sleep can cause out to miss out on achieving our full potential in the things of God. We can overcome oversleeping by learning from the ant, seeking wisdom from the Holy Spirit and making the most of the time that has been given to us. 

The love of money has caused many people to stray from the faith. Believing in the sufficiency of God can help us to overcome the love of money.

Pride leads to us falling from the grace of God. We can overcome pride by walking in humility.

The word of God explicitly states that we should flee from sexual immorality. That is the key to overcome. We need to cut ourselves away from anyone or anything that draws us near to this sin.

Every part of our lives is important to God and our relationships with others are no different. Through discernment and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome evil company.

As believers, we have been given the power to overcome sin and its effects. Today's episode gives us keys to victory against the powe of sin.

We can overcome the past by making a conscious decision to forget the former things and look ahead at the possibilities God has for us as overcomers.

Lukewarmness is a state which we can overcome through sanctification and daily repentance.

We overcome spiritual ignorance through knowing the word of God for ourselves.

Fear is a spirit that affects the mind. We can overcome fear through prayer, working on the thoughts that come our way, being in fellowship with believers and nor giving up the fight to overcome.

This month, we are focusing on overcoming barriers that hinder us from knowing God and walking in our purpose. This message makes us understand what it means to be an overcomer and the reason why we are confident that we shall overcome every hindrance.

As we conclude this month and this season of waiting on God, we are encouraged to press on in our quest to encounter the Lord.

This message was preached at the May 2022 edition of the Things of The Spirit Service. We are shown what it means to have a divine encounter and how to be in a position to receive encounters.

Through the encounter Daniel received, we see how God is able to give skills and understanding beyond human abilities.

Elijah received an encounter when he accepted the call on his life and was persistent in serving and following Elisha.

We see how Ezekiel received a call from God through an encounter. Through this encounter, we are able to understand the sovereignty and leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Peter received an encounter which gave him deliverance from death.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit gives the believer peace, joy and boldness. We can walk in the power of the Holy Spirit through desire and staying in the word of God.

Saul encountered the Lord on his way to Damascus and had a radical life change. We see how the man who was once a persecutor of the church became a preacher of the word of God.

On the day of His resurrection, the disciples encountered Jesus in a new dimension. We see what this encounter means to us in relation to understanding the word of God.

The disciples had an awesome encounter with the Lord when they were alone with Him on the mountain. We need to be disciples who are always ready to spend quality time with the Lord in order to experience divine encounters. 

The Hebrew boys encountered God in the midst of trials. We are encouraged to hold on and stand strong despite the storms life brings our way.

We see how Solomon encountered God in a dream and how through this encounter he became great and received wisdom. We can also encounter the Lord as we yearn and desire for Him. 

The woman with the issue of blood who had struggled with illness for twelve years had one encounter with the Lord Jesus and received healing. It takes just one encounter for a transformation to take place.

Toay's episode reveals the encounter John had with the Lord which led him to write the book of Revelation. We see John's faithfulness in spite of great persecution.
