GFBC Young Adults

We believe God is calling us as a ministry and generation to be an example for serving the Lord and taking the gospel message to the ends of the earth. We believe God is calling us to "set the pace." Join us for a two-week series from 1 Thessalonians 1 and 2.

Did you know that two spiritual families exist? Everyone is in 1 of these families. In our passage this week, John describes what the children in these families look like. As you listen, evaluate which family you currently belong to.

Imagine the scene. Your dad, mom, or a grandparent pulls up a chair and says, "Hey! I have something really important to tell you..." In 1 John 2:18-29, John pulls up a chair to talk with his spiritual children. He has some important things to share with them. Join us this week as we hear important truths that John wants to impart to those he loves.

God expects all of His children to grow spiritually. He wants us to mature. Sometimes growth is painful. This week, join us as we look at 1 John 2:1-17 and discover what God wants to teach us about spiritual growth.

Join us as we kick off a new series we're calling "Welcome to the Family!" As we walk through 1 John, we'll see that God's family should be characterized by a different way of living. In 1 John 1, we'll discover that fellowship with God allows us to experience joy to the fullest.

Before Judas betrayed Jesus, Jesus went to a garden. This week, we'll discover the importance of Jesus' moment in the garden.

"Do not commit murder..." Do we even need to talk about this? Join us as we dive deeper into this command and the value and meaning that God gives to every individual.

"Honor your father and mother..." Isn't that just for kids? Join us this week as we discover the importance of this command in our lives!

This week we're taking a break from our TEN WORDS series. As we study Psalm 127, we're asking God to do something special in our lives, families, friends, and this generation. What is it that you need to ask God to do in your life?

How should Christians approach work? How should we approach rest? In this week's message, we look at command 4—remember the Sabbath to keep it holy.

Did you know God has many names in Scripture? These names reveal who God is. Join us this week as we seek to know God more by taking a look at several of His names!

This week we look at the second commandment. "Isn't this commandment just about not making idols?" As with most of the commandments, there's more than meets the eye. As we dive into this commandment, we'll discover that God desires to be worshiped in a unique way. 

This week we dive into the first commandment. What does this command teach us about God? What does it teach us about ourselves? How does this command encourage us to worship Him fully? 

The Ten Commandments, also known as the Decalogue, literally means TEN WORDS. These "ten words" are often forgotten and misunderstood. This week we begin a journey to understand the purpose and principles they reveal to New Testament followers of Jesus. 

Should the Bible inform and direct our sexuality? What if sexual immorality enters the life of the church? Should we celebrate a diversity of sexual perspectives and preference? This week we'll unpack a difficult passage, 1 Corinthians 5, and we'll glean Biblical wisdom about each of these questions. 

All Christians are called to be... MINISTERS! What does it look like to embrace this calling? What should characterize the Christian's life? This week we'll look at 1 Corinthians 4 and discover a few areas that should characterize our lives. 

The church matters to Jesus, so it should matter to us. As we live within the context of the church, we should seek to protect the unity and purity of the church. This week, we'll unpack 1 Corinthians 3:9-23 and look at principles that we can apply to our lives so that we can work toward unity and purity in the church. 

Are you laboring for what matters most in life? Is your life organized in such a way that honors God and fulfills His purpose for your life? As we look at 1 Corinthians 3:9-15, we'll discover what it looks like to "build what matters" and to be a laborer in God's Kingdom. 

"It wasn't supposed to be this way..." Has this thought ever ran through your mind? Maybe you lost a loved one, or a relationship unexpectedly ended. Maybe your life has not turned out the way you imagined. Is there any hope? How do we move forward? This week, we're taking a break from our study in 1 Corinthians to unpack Hebrews 4:14-16. 

We're all building something—relationships, careers, resumes, etc. But are you building what matters most? 

What is godly wisdom? Is it available to us? What is it characterized by? This week we'll look wisdom rooted in Christ Jesus. 

"The message of the cross is..." How would you finish this phrase? In our text this week, Paul wants to remind the believers about the message that unites them. Join us this week as we discover the importance of the message of the cross! 

Unity has been a struggle within the church for as long as it's been around. In this episode, we'll discover the first of many issues in the church at Corinth. What caused the disunity? How can we learn from the mistakes in Corinth? 

This semester we will journey through 1 Corinthians— a letter written to a group of imperfect Jesus followers. The church in Corinth had all kinds of issues, but Paul begins by reminding them of their God-given identity. If you are a follower Jesus, the identity given to the Corinthian Christians is also yours. 

We fight for a lot of good things in life, but are we fighting for the best things? In this episode, we look at what it means to fight for fellowship with the Lord.
