Leadership in the fire service is needed not just when it’s convenient, but at all times. No matter what’s on your collar, stop thinking about you and start thinking about the team! This podcast is in my opinion a motivation for firefighters to get off the couch and improve their skills, leadership, department, and team. I’ve talked about changes and how to make them. But are they working? Staying patient on change can be tough but it’s possible that change can happen. Make 2022 a year of change and goal oriented. If you just got a promotion here is some advice that was given to me and I hope it will help you out. Don’t just stop and sit on the couch because you got that promotion. Now is the time to build your team and make them and yourself better.

Incorporating your team on some decisions is important. If you just make decisions because you have the power or you can may come and bite you in the rear. If someone knows more than you on something it’s ok to ask their opinion. Be an open door kind of person!!
