Genesis Project Portland

We are starting a new series about our vision of GP Portland. The first thing we establish is relationship. What does it look like for us to love others the way Jesus loved us first?

Simplicity is achieved not when you can’t add anything else new in, but when you can’t take anything else out. In our efforts to bulk up the gospel, We try to add into Jesus, and through that we ironically end up taking Him out of the equation. But through pressing into our value of Simplicity, following in the way of Jesus, we can and we will get to the point where we stop taking Jesus out.

Whenever we encounter Jesus, we never leave the same. While change is inevitable, transformation has to be sought after and on purpose, and while it's not up to us, it does require our involvement through surrendering to the Holy Spirit.

We are cultivating a space where everyone belongs. That means we have to look to Jesus to inform us what acceptance looks like, where we meet all people where they are, journey with them, listen to and value their story, and bring them to the love of Jesus.

First in our new series about our core values. When we try to be authentic, we tend to look within or to the external to find our true identity, but Jesus offers us an alternative if we look to Him.
