Geeks Unleashed

Although neither of the Geeks saw this film in theaters, they were united in their thoughts on this entry that restarts a struggling franchise. A rare occasion in film where the sequel is better than the original? We certainly think X2 fits the bill. We did get a bit sidetracked at the beginning of the episode with our discussion on Quiet On Set . Trigger warning, we do briefly mention some of the abuse that the documentary covers.    TRACKLIST: 1:21 - Geek of the Week: Jasmin - Quiet on Set ; Mark - Unforgotten 31:49 - Summary and fun fa...

We are back this week with, arguably, the film that kicked off our higher expectations in the Superhero film genre. (2008 took that to new heights, but that's another conversation for another day...) Finishing up our time on Earth-701306, and we're grateful there weren't anymore sequels here. The year was 2005, the soundtrack is blah (compared to Daredevil two years prior), and a lot people phoned it on for this one.   TRACKLIST: 1:21 - Geek of the Week: Jasmin - Buchigiri ; Mark - Kin Season 2 10:11 - Elektra summary and fun facts 19:27 - Elektra (2005) review   You can follow us on X , Faceb...

Mark needed a pallet cleanser after last week's Street Fighter episode, and so Jasmin thought yet another video game adaptation would do the trick! We covered the MK reboot waaaaayyyyy back on episode 46 ! But we're taking it back to the OG -- Mortal Kombat (1995). Jasmin was worried that Mark would hate this film so badly that she'd need to recruit a new co-host. Did the Geeks have a falling out?...
