Episodes

A Complete Unknown : #FNEmoviemonth (29 of 30) 30.06.2025

How did it feel!? To watch this movie? The answer my friend is - it felt friggin' great. Once again I am blown away by a Timothée Chalamet performance where he's singing. Hell, singing or playing in the sand , he's been pretty great in everything I've ever seen him in. So happy I decided to watch this as the penultimate movie for 2025. One day more!!!

MaXXXine : #FNEmoviemonth (28 of 30) 29.06.2025

Day 28! We've reached the final 3 movies of the month and today I returned to the Mia Goth trilogy of terror as I watched the finale, MaXXXine . I did enjoy this movie - probably not as much as Pearl, but overall this entire trilogy has been quite entertaining.

Civil War : #FNEmoviemonth (27 of 30) 28.06.2025

Wow. I just finished watching today's movie and that's the only word I can think of. Wow. While many of the movies I watch during this month are fun - this one was anything but. But? I thought it was pretty incredible. Scary. And incredible. (And after saving the entire episode I realized I forgot to mention their stop in a town that basically is ignoring the war is going on...but not real...

Clown in a Cornfield : #FNEmoviemonth (26 of 30) 27.06.2025

I just watched a movie that appears to be a love letter to old slasher movies, but in truth is an adaptation of a book that is the actual love letter to slasher movies. Or maybe it's both. Either way, I read this book. And its two sequels ( all three by author Adam Cesare ) - so how could I not watch this movie This was the first time I rented a movie through Plex, and although there were no s...

The Equalizer 2 : #FNEmoviemonth (25 of 30) 26.06.2025

What a wonderful day to get Equalized! Today, I decided it was time to go back and see my old friend Robert McCall , who I first encountered last year. I'm very happy I decided to watch these movies - and I love Denzel in these. How can you not!?

Pearl : #FNEmoviemonth (24 of 30) 25.06.2025

I've wanted to watch this trilogy for a while. I liked X . I did. So I was looking forward to watching the next two in the series - and after watching today's movie, Pearl, the only thing I have left to wonder is if I will enjoy the third movie as much as I enjoyed this one. Oh and that amount of enjoyment could be best described as, love . Because I loved this movie, and I think I love Mi...

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare : #FNEmoviemonth (23 of 30) 24.06.2025

Anytime you can get a ragtag bunch of soldiers to team up and fight Nazis - count me in! Add to that it's directed by Guy Ritchie and stars a former Superman and a current Jack Reacher. Count me in again. This movie was just fun as hell. Ungentlemanly hell.

Final Destination 3 : #FNEmoviemonth (22 of 30) 23.06.2025

Guess who's back? Back again. Death is back. Killing friends....Today, I talk about the third entry into the Final Destination franchise and also about the very real anxiety that I have with some amusement park rides. This is the end of the line for Final Destination movies this year, but fear not - Death always comes back to finish what it started... Oh, and I added this late in yesterday&#39...

Saturday Night : #FNEmoviemonth (21 of 30) 22.06.2025

Live, from my podcast - it's day 21 of Movie Month! I planned on watching this movie earlier in the week and then thought - wait, how can I not wait for Saturday Night at 11:30pm? It just makes too much sense. Also, a huge shoutout and thank you to William Bruce West for mentioning me and this project in his latest edition of " West Week Ever ." Much appreciated!!

A Quiet Place: Day One : #FNEmoviemonth (20 of 30) 21.06.2025

Shhhhh! You have the duty to remain silent. Anything you say can and will probably get you eaten by aliens. When we first came across these invaders of Earth, we were already years into a new world. A new reality. In today's movie - we go back to the day it all started. They day smart people realized - um, I'm probably better off alone than with a giant group of people. All it takes is one...

Warrior : #FNEmoviemonth (19 of 30) 20.06.2025

For the past (more than a) few Movie Months, I give my friend and co-host Chris one special wish. He gets to pick a movie for me to watch . Sometimes more than one - but always at least one. This year, not only did he pick the movie - but he joined for the the podcast in what might be my first Movie Month with a co-host (forgive me if I am wrong - and forgive me even more if you were that co-host....

Ed Wood : #FNEmoviemonth (18 of 30) 19.06.2025

You're not reading this wrong. Until today, I have never seen this movie. This movie came out during my first month of college. I was going to school for film at the time ( check out my 1995 film class final project .) Seems like a no brainer. I have no good excuse why I didn't see it then - and no real answer why it has eluded me for 31 years, including over 11 years of movie month. I&#39...

Now You See Me : #FNEmoviemonth (17 of 30) 18.06.2025

This movie gave me exactly what I was hoping for. Dumb fun. I was watching it going - this is kinda silly. This is kinda ridiculous. This isn't all that great...But wait a second - I am really enjoying myself. I guess you could say that's the....magic of the movie. Oof. I can't believe I typed that either.

Final Destination 2 : #FNEmoviemonth (16 of 30) 17.06.2025

It's deja vu all over again. We're now on the back-fifteen. The road in front of us is forever shorter than the road behind us! Today I return to the world of Final Destination with the 2nd movie in the series. Better characters. Better kills. Better all around. Just a better movie.

Joker: Folie à Deux : #FNEmoviemonth (15 of 30) 16.06.2025

Happy Father's Day, everybody! Today I happened to celebreate by watching the sequel to 2019's JOKER , which I am pretty sure is the last time my dad and I went to the movies together. He's fine by the way (I made him hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill today) we just haven't gone to the movies since then. Anyway - this sequel was so badly received that I was almost giddy to see w...

Venom: The Last Dance : #FNEmoviemonth (14 of 30) 15.06.2025

This movie probably would have been better if every human character was removed except for Eddie (and even that is debatable). I wanted to see this to finish off the trilogy , but this might be the first true stinker of the month. There were a few things I liked about it. Just a few. I'm going to make you listen to find out what they are - also I haven't recored the episode at the time I t...

Black Bag : #FNEmoviemonth (13 of 30) 14.06.2025

Happy Friday the 13th, everybody! Had I thought about it - I probably would have done a horror movie today instead of yesterday, but thems the breaks! Instead today I watched the 2025 Steven Soderbergh spy thriller Black Bag which was surprisingly short - but at the same time the perfect length. And it answers the age old question, are there more Skarsgårds out there? The answer, will aways be - y...

X : #FNEmoviemonth (12 of 30) 13.06.2025

And just like that I decided to start another horror movie series. A trilogy in fact. I assume only a trilogy - but you never know. Today I start the Ti West/Mia Goth triple feature of horror with 2022's X. It was what I expected but also not quite what I expected. I quite enjoyed it and am looking forward to the other two. And yes, I covered my eyes a couple times...For the killing - not the....

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes : #FNEmoviemonth (11 of 30) 12.06.2025

Happy Wednesday Everybody! Day 11! Today I returned to a series that I've seen all the movies for - even though one of them I dared to watch outside of movie month . It's been seven years since I've watched a new Planet of the Apes movie, but it was like riding a bicycle. Or a horse. I was propelled back into this world pretty quickly and the more I watched this movie, the more I was r...

Novocaine : #FNEmoviemonth (10 of 30) 11.06.2025

Day 10! We are a third of the way through movie month already! Today I watched a Jack Quaid action/comedy where the main character feels no pain. I can't say I felt no pain watching it but it was serviceable enough, a few chuckles and I did have one good laugh. But at least I was able to make my favorite poster image so far this month....

Final Destination : #FNEmoviemonth (9 of 30) 10.06.2025

For years, I've escaped this movies and all of it's sequel like teen characters escaping the cold hand of Death. But much like most of these characters, fate eventually caught up with me and here I preparing to watch all of the Final Destination movies . Will I watch them all during Movie Month 2025? No chance. Will this be the only one I watch during Movie Month 2025? No chance.

Ballerina : #FNEmoviemonth (8 of 30) 09.06.2025

Welcome to the second week of movie month! And today I started the week the same way I did last week - by going to a movie theater thanks to a discounted ticket through my cellphone provider. What? Isn't that how everybody goes to the movies? Today I watched the brand new spin-off of the John Wick franchise , Ballerina. Fighting? Shooting? Keanu? Ana de Armas? What's not to love!? Listen a...

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire : #FNEmoviemonth (7 of 30) 08.06.2025

Okay, maybe I got thought I was referencing the title multiple times when I was saying "Lost Kingdom" like Aquaman was back....I was too focused on this very subtle intricate plot-driven film. Sure, big action-packed movies are fun, but sometimes I enjoy these smaller, almost independent dramas that the Monsterverse gives us. In today's movie, the fifth in the film series, we have two...

Trap : #FNEmoviemonth (6 of 30) 06.06.2025

It's a trap! It's a movie! It's a Shyamalan thriller! It's a vehicle for his daughter to show off her singing! It's a vehicle for Josh Hartnett to be bonkers. It's all of the above! Was it great? No. Was it good? Sometimes. Was it fun? Mostly. Am I glad I finally watched it? Yes.

Captain America: Brave New World : #FNEmoviemonth (5 of 30) 06.06.2025

This is my 25th Marvel movie for Movie Month. I think since Iron-Man 3, the only movies I haven't seen for Movie Month are Winter Soldier, the first Guardians, and Age of Ultron (I watched movies and didn't podcast about them?) and Deadpool & Wolverine (I couldn't wait until this year!) Of course this doesn't include movies yet to be seen... Notice I haven't talked much abo...
