Geek Mentality

It's Friday Night! And of course that means I am home podcasting - something I also did before this pandemic thing, and probably something I'll do long after it's safe to see the friends I've been avoiding. Oh and I watched Back to the Future for the 12th time in 12 days. Guinness Book, did I break any records yet? Maybe I will in 19 days?

In this episode of Marchy McFly, I thought I'd talk about a little about the man behind the man who is the father of the world's second time traveler. Today's episode is dedicated to Crispin Glover.

We've hit double digits! I remember when I turned 10 getting in a car and telling my grandmother that I've hit double digits and thinking that was a big deal. 34 years later and I am starting to wonder if I have it in me to hit triple digits. If I do, you can bet I'll be in some sort of futuristic space nursing home and I'll be watching "Back to the Future" on whatever peop...

It's Day 9 of Marchy McFly and today...Well today I just go through some notes I had written down and fantasized about Lorraine doing a little more than just drinking and smoking outside the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance. Also check out the Buzzn The Tower podcast . Was talking with one of the guys through Instagram and am definitely going to check their show out!

Happy Monday! For this 8th day of Marchy McFly I took even MORE notes and talk about them. It is fun watching a movie and not worried about the plot or even what the characters are doing - gives you space to look around at interesting things in the background....See you again tomorrow!

You didn't think I forgot about all the Batman movies, did you? I told you March was going to be jam packed with podcasts! Tonight I just wanted ( for the second time ) from 2017, " The Lego Batman Movie, " and I think I liked it even more this time around. So much fun.

Happy Sunday everybody! We've hit the end of the first week in our month long celebration of "Back to the Future" and today I thought it would be fun to read through an article about Back to the Future and talk about it. Check out "37 Things to Look for the Next Time You Watch Back to the Future" by Sean Hutchinson on the Metal Floss website.

On this, the sixth day of Marchy McFly, I talk about the fifth day of November in the year 1955. I also go over a few notes that I took during today's viewing and threw in a little something else there towards the end.

Mike's contract specifically states that he needs to watch Back to the Future every day in March and talk about it every day in March. He may try to tell you that management is against him - but we at Fans Not Experts value our hosts and stand by our treatment of them. He wanted an announcer? Fine, he gets one. Hopefully now Mr. Podcaster will be happy. Oh, and enjoy the show.

Tis the fourth day of March, which makes it the fourth time I've watched "Back to the Future" this month and the fourth time I've podcasted about "Back to the Future" this month. And on this day, I took the podcast out from behind my desk (aka the kitchen table) and took out out to the streets of New England (aka on a dog walk). And then I found some audio of an outdoor eve...

Not to fear, this sucker is electrical...And back for day 3 of the biggest Back to the Future celebration.* In this episode, Mike talks about a few more of his notes and we get to hear a blast from the past from one of the voices of Hill Valley! *by this podcast, on this month.

In this second episode of Marchy McFly, I talk about a few things I've noticed - now that I am looking for things! And also I touch on another way this movie has been part of my personal life. So why don't you make like a tree - and listen!

Finally! After all these months of waiting - March and #MarchyMcFly are finally here! 31 straight days of celebrating my favorite movie of all time. 31 days of watching "Back to the Future" and 31 day of podcasting about it! Buckle up - when this baby his 88 miles per hour....you know the rest.

Another "Big Screen Batman" and another movie I've already done in Movie Month . This is not a "Batman Movie" in the truest sense of the word, but it is a movie with Batman - and the predecessor to Justice League - so of course I was going to do another podcast on 2016's "Suicide Squad!"

A movie featuring MY two favorite Superheroes? Um, yeah I was going to like this no matter what. But here's the thing - when I rewatched, this time the 3-hour Ultimate Edition - I enjoyed it! In fact, I enjoyed it probably even more than I remembered! And no doubt I was excited to see this movie all the way back in 2013 when I first heard it was happening. Check out my blog post about it .

Everything is Awesome! This is a big screen movie - and Batman is in it. So yeah, this counts! This movie is so much fun and so enjoyable just to look at. Will Arnett steals the show as the Caped Crusader - so I try to focus mostly on him.

The end of an era. The end of Christian Bale as the Bat. The end of Christopher Nolan as the director. The end of live action Batman movies with good Rotten Tomatoes scores. Tonight I talked about the final film in Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, and even though I haven't seen fully since the theater, I walked away from it this second time around with mostly positive feelings. Now you have my...

An almost perfect movie, last night I watched the amazing 2008 Christopher Nolan follow to Batman Begins, " The Dark Knight ."

After all the gifts and all the time with the same family in my bubble that I see all the time anyway - it was finally time to sit down at night and enjoy Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max! And enjoy it....I mostly did. Listen now to get all of my sleepy 48 hour later thoughts!

Finally, a movie to restore faith in my love of Batman again. The age of the fluorescents is over as I rewatch for the first time in years a movie that I forgot how much I love! Christian Bale takes on the cape and cowl for the first time as the Caped Crusader in the Christopher Nolan 2005 film, Batman Begins . It was good. Really good.

I never thought a movie would make me like Batman Forever - but this one sure did. A big, dumb attempt at comic book camp that failed in almost every aspect. But guess what? George Clooney had nothing to do with the problems of this movie. He tried his best to make 1997's " Batman & Robin " a big screen hero. But it turned out to be a big screen dud.

Riddle me this. Riddle me that. Who had to watch this not very good Bat....man movie? ME! I did! I thought I was going to like this one, and it didn't take me long to start making faces at my television. It's not all bad - but it definitely was mostly bad. Batman Forever ? More like Batman never again!

I was a senior in high school when " Batman: Mask of the Phantasm " came out in theaters. Now do you think being a senior in high school and recently having a girlfriend (now my wife) is going to stop this cool dude from going to see an animated Batman movie in a second-run movie theater with his older brother and friend who were both in college? Think about it - I am a 44 year old guy who...

A bat, a cat, and a bird Walken to a bar...Stop me if you've hear this one. Welcome back to BIG SCREEN BATMAN where today (okay mostly last night before I fell asleep) I watched Tim Burton and Michael Keaton's swan song (well maybe not for Mike) in the Batman world with 1992's " Batman Returns ." And this time around they doubled up the villainy with Danny DeVito and Michelle P...

Welcome back to "Big Screen Batman" where tonight I watched Tim Burton's 1989 classic, " Batman " starring Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton. I talk about how psyched the 13 year old version of me was to see this movie when it first came out - and 31 year later how much I still enjoyed it. I'm basically the same person as that 13 year old kid. Slightly more gray hair.
