God desires His church to grow in wisdom and understanding. Therefore, as a church community, we should pray for wisdom in faith, and we should seek understanding from His word, especially the wisdom books. Here are some nuggets of wisdom from Proverbs to guide our community.

No man can tame the tongue. Only God can tame the tongue. Thus, we seek God’s grace through prayer that we may be able to tame the tongue. And we seek God’s wisdom by studying His word that we may grow in understanding. A godly person will watch his or her own words. And a church community must watch out for those who cause dissensions.

Solomon, the author of most of the book of Proverbs, started Chapter 3, with “my son” whom he may be referring to an actual son or his children, or anyone who he considers as his students.
