We're closing out our Under the Tree series today by finishing the conversation of generosity. Our generosity is not some thing that puts God in debt to us, otherwise it wouldn't be very generous would it? No, our generosity must be built on faith. Our faith must be that He will do what He has said He will do and that He will return our generosity back to us in the form of blessings.

As we near the end of our series this week, we need to understand that blessings need to be recognized as gifts from the Lord. Generous people can receive these blessings as intended because their heart was in the right place. Greedy people may also receive blessings for their giving, but if the intentions are impure, they may not recognize it as God's blessings.

Our Under the Tree series began with a conversation of generosity and its importance, especially this time of year! Generosity isn't just throwing all of our time and money at everything around us, it's about stewardship and understanding what God wants us to use the time and money He has provided for us to further His kingdom and to be generous to others.

It's the season of giving, but gifts aren't the entire theme of the season. Our help and love towards others trumps any gift under the tree, and God's generous favor will always come when we least expect it.
