If something is from God and we try and stop it, we will only be fighting against God but it is not of God then it will naturally fail. Jesus is the Gate and He tells us that however enters through Him will be saved. There isn't a grey area here, it is either we are in or out. We are either with Him in heaven or in hell without Him.
