Randomly unclear motivations and feelings from Sandy and Kirsten confuse all of us, and the boys are in trouble for doing teenage stuff for the first time in a while. Yes, Lindsay is still around...

Recapping episode 7 of season 2 of The O.C.. We FINALLY get a (mostly) believable range of emotions from Marissa as we say good riddance to Jimmy (sadly not for forever), and everyone else is just kind of along for the ride, including poor DJ. Ryan and Lindsay also continue to bore us to death with all their talk.

Recapping episode 6 of season 2 of The O.C.. We're back for another classic episode where the bubbling Caleb drama finally boils over in spectacular fashion. All of the adults look bad this ep, with the kids as the saving grace. We also briefly feel bad for Lindsay, but she still manages to annoy us more.

Recapping episode 5 of season 2 of The O.C.. Marissa impresses us with her party planning abilities while the kids plots are kind of more of the same? We finally get the Caleb secret reveal / the reason we have been forced to suffer through Lindsay's presence all this time. Jimmy and Julie engage in a storyline no one asked for (but saw coming from a mile away).

Recapping episode 4 of season 2 of The O.C.. We are back at the Bait Shop for another (better) music centric episode around the Killers! Stuff is still percolating with Caleb that we can barely care about and we are fully out of Lindsay at this point. Also DJ makes his triumphant return, this time wearing shirts.

Recapping episode 3 of season 2 of The O.C.. Ryan finally gets his own storyline not about Seth or Marissa, unfortunately it involves rude newcomer Lindsay (who will never win us back). Caleb makes a truly incomprehensible decision about "the company" post arrest. And shockingly, Seth still stinks but at least the show seems to be aware of it now?

Recapping episode 2 of season 2 of The O.C.. In the longest first day of school ever, Ryan and Seth want to pretend the last three months didn't happen, Summer is having none of it (good for her!!), and Marissa uses Ryan's return to excuse day drinking at school and using the "yard guy" DJ. WE ARE BACK BABY - recapping episode 1 of season 2 of The O.C.. We revisit the terrible course of action / fake adult life that Teresa and Ryan decided (?) was their only solution at the end of season 1, Seth continues to be the absolute worst, and Marissa drinks alone / offers up her "meltdown" performance for our Emmy consideration.

Recapping episode 25 of season 1 of The O.C.. Teresa is back in the mix to kick off a battle between Ryan and Sandy for who has the bigger savior complex as the show again half-heartedly addresses stereotypical "poor people problems." Caleb and Julie also throw the ugliest wedding shower of all time and Marissa starts being broody again.

Recapping episode 24 of season 1 of The O.C.. Our attention spans get shorter and shorter as we reach the home stretch of season 1. Luke sadly spirals further before ultimately leaving Newport for Portland (way ahead of the trend!). Some other stuff happens with the Lighthouse (???), and Caleb proposes to Julie kind of out of nowhere.

Recapping episode 23 of season 1 of The O.C.. We slog through another late season episode with another Teresa appearance (sadly not for the last time). Ryan is in full-on savior mode after Marissa "took off" when she found out about Julie and Luke, Seder dinner is happening at the Cohen house - rife with family dramz, and Jimmy stinks again (still?).

Recapping episode 22 of season 1 of The O.C.. Another snoozefest sees the Julie / Luke debacle finally go down in flames (as we knew it would) when Marissa finds out. The gang goes to LA inexplicably and there is also some Sandy / Jimmy restaurant stuff all the adults are getting in on now.

Recapping episode 21 of season 1 of The O.C.. The Ryan / Teresa story drags to an end (for now) with Ryan on the losing end of a fist fight for the millionth time. Seth is verklempt over Ana's departure, but in true form makes it about himself. Marissa shows some real emotional growth that impresses us.

Recapping episode 20 of season 1 of The O.C.. We sleepwalk through an episode mostly centered around a snooze-fest Teresa / Ryan storyline. Seth engages in a very public display of affection towards Summer that gives us major second hand cringe, and we've done a complete 180 on Ana. Also Julie and Luke are still a thing and it still makes us sad.

Recapping episode 19 of season 1 of The O.C.. We're back after an impromptu break last week! Marissa's cringeworthy attempts to pretend Oliver never existed rightfully fall flat with Ryan. Meanwhile, two sex storylines we definitely didn't need, and feel very uncomfortable discussing.

Recapping episode 18 of season 1 of The O.C.. Luke is the only one who backs up Ryan and tries to figure out what Oliver's deal is, earning the MVF (most valuable friend) award in the process, while Marissa continues to infuriate us all. Seth is also the worst and gets dumped by Ana (finally).

Recapping episode 17 of season 1 of The O.C.. The gloves are literally off as Ryan becomes more and more concerned about Oliver's presence while everyone else is seemingly oblivious. Meanwhile, Julie isn't the absolute worst for once, and Sandy decides to rescue Jimmy by going into the restaurant business?? (with special guest gabber!)

Recapping episode 16 of season 1 of The O.C.. In one of the most rage inducing episodes of the season, Marissa continues to be oblivious about Oliver's intentions, Summer annoys everyone on purpose, and Caleb doesn't deny he loves Hailey more than Kirsten.

Recapping episode 15 of season 1 of The O.C.. We get the first band-centric episode as the gang goes to see Rooney. Ryan is the only one who is a little suspicious of Oliver since Marissa is too clueless and Seth is too self-involved. Meanwhile, Hailey annoys everyone, including us, as the worst guest of all time.

Recapping episode 14 of season 1 of The O.C.. Marissa leans on Oliver, who she barely knows, when Ryan doesn't say "i love you" back immediately. Meanwhile, Kirsten has an existential crisis because her "wild" younger sister Haley appears out of nowhere and gets into her head about her lovely marriage with Sandy.

Recapping episode 13 of season 1 of The O.C.. It's officially "the holidays" and we mercifully conclude the Balboa Heights storyline, learn that Seth doesn't deserve Summer or Ana, and see Marissa finally realize that going to therapy could actually be good for her.

Recapping episode 12 of season 1 of The O.C.. Big episode for people to jump on the Luke Bandwagon, as he handles a life-altering situation incredibly well for his age. Meanwhile, Seth deals with the fallout of his duplicity on Thanksgiving and Kirsten and Sandy continue to give Jimmy and Julie help and advice despite them not really deserving it.

Recapping episode 11 of season 1 of The O.C.. It's Thanksgiving and Marissa is finally on the upswing as she and Ryan go back to Chino, Seth sketchily has multiple makeouts with Summer and Anna, and Kirsten binge drinks instead of telling Caleb to hit the bricks.
