We are commanded to go and make disciples (not church-goers!) of all people.  However, many of us have lost focus on the Great Commission.  We can accomplish this mission as we “walk in love, as Christ loved us” (Ephesians 5:2).  We walk in love by submitting to God, meeting people where they are at and becoming prayer warriors. There is no better place to get built up and refreshed than the church.  It’s a place where we can be restored and encouraged.  Yet, many people come to church merely out of duty or because it is the “right thing to do.”   Pastor Brent’s message addresses why community is important, that it requires effort and why people avoid it. We all want the rewards and abundance of a harvest.  However, harvests don’t just happen on their own…they require work!  Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Matt 9:37).     In order to be a harvester, we must plant good seeds, avoid rot in our lives and be a blessing to others. As Christians, we need to be striving for holiness.   We can learn a lot about pursuing holiness by looking at apple orchards and seeking a delicious apple.  We need to learn to avoid the frost (worship God), avoid soft apples (remain firm in Christ) and taste it (experience God).  Click here to get in touch. Discipleship is another word for maturity.  The definition of a disciple is “a follower or student of a teacher or leader.”  Being born again is instantaneous, but discipleship is a lifelong process.  Discipleship is something that is taught, not caught.  We are a called to become disciples and to make disciples.
