Free Range Preacher on Prayer

“The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry, that I have been capable of. It is a subject on which my mind has been peculiarly intent, ever since I first entered on the study of divinity. But as to the success of my inquiries it must be left to the judgment of the reader of the following tr...

Two provisos, please: 1. the sound is marginally better than my past interviews, and B. As I am working on the sound of the interviews, I am also working on my transitions… I promise. Lol out loud. The interview is insightful and a treat as well. “The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry,...

The Puritans used the term "secret" counsel of God and "secret" prayer, in other words, truths hidden or dimly acknowledged by fallen humanity. The confession on the redeemed has a secret blessing… David and Peter illustrate to us: Luke 7:47 “For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Our love for Go...

This episode is a short review of the faith and prayer of one man dedicated to living in complete dependence and contentment in the presence of the Holy God of the universe. George Muller, a man of faith, proved God will supply strictly through prayer and faith. In his integrity, he is said to have fifty-thousand positive answers to prayer throughout his life. He also lived out the Puritan concept...

Back to Jesus teaches prayer from the Sermon on the Mount and The Lord's Prayer. Not Really the Lord's prayer as in we mindlessly repeat words. God is never moved by a formula or man's pious repetition of His Son our Savior's words. This passage, Matthew 6:9-13 "Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is i...

We have finished up 2020 with the Free Range Preacher’s prayer for our listeners, myself, and all my loved ones. The outline of this 2021 prayer is we remember and experience: Our prayers are heard, Luke 1:13 We serve the God of the impossible, Luke 1:37 We will not forget even though we may feel: 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of t...

A significant aspect of the abundant life available to the household of God is the Biblical context in which we can live our lives. Our God is the Builder and Ruler of all creation. He is the God who hears. He is the God of the impossible. He is the God who shows lovingkindness to all generations. Our 2021 corporate prayer is based on the above truths; to the end, our lives make sense in the conte...

Our initial encouragement in part one, we were reminded our prayers are being heard. The God of all the universe, our Creator and our Savior, makes this truth all the more magnificent when we know, from heavenly angels… Luke 1:37 “For nothing will be impossible with God.” What joy and glory! The object of our prayers is the God of the impossible! As we pray, Your will be done on earth as it is in...

We here at Free Range Preacher Ministries have proposed our world is now in the midst of our lifetimes' first global corporate trial. The bad news is we are all together even as the people of God, are feeling to one degree another what Paul described in 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves...

The encouraging truth of Scripture is when we are conforming to the will of God in: Saved Spirit-filled Sanctified Suffering Submissive Saying thanks We are free to do what our hearts desire!!! The most encouraging truth of Scripture is that as we mature in the will of God: Saved Spirit-filled Sanctified Suffering Submissive Saying thanks Our will, will be increasingly His will, and our heart’s de...

I may not understand precisely how to use Conjunction Junction, what's your function?, but I do know the adjectives used in the Sermon on the Mount remind us of the privilege and responsibility of unselfish prayers. It is a stunning realization that God not only decrees what is going to happen, but He also decrees the how or the means through which all things will happen; the significance of that...

Part one of my conversation with my children concerning prayer. Over the last two years of attempting to teach, encourage, and exhort God’s people to a growing, Biblical, dynamic prayer life, it occurred to me that I did not formally teach prayer to my two children. Today, I have the opportunity to introduce my children to you all: Casaundra J, my Daughter of Strength. Fred M, my Son of Promise. A...

A reoccurring theme of this here podcast is Thanksgiving. No matter what our circumstance, rejoicing in victory, or exulting in our tribulations, we remember the words of our blessed Redeemer: Luke 10:20 “Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” Therefore we never lack an eternal, humbling reason to be thankful...

Lincoln has some BIG news to share. She also wants to tell you all about God’s holiness, His mercies, and His grace. (Check out her immediate reaction when she is told God is the only being in all creation who is intrinsically Holy.) Continuing with our child-like faith theme, hear the joy expressed in a young believer. Assistant Editor: Seven Jefferson Gossard freerangeprayer@gmail.com Facebook -...

It is a fearful privilege to be a bond-servant to the Holy God of the universe. Philippians 2:12-13 "So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." The child of God cannot regard one another as more...

There are specific Scripture passages that make my soul sing praises to the Creator God of the universe, the Alpha and Omega. El Elyon, who has agreed in His love to be my Savior. Sometimes a well-worn verse jumps to my soul and causes me to remember the greatness of our God. Our fallen nature causes us at times to groan. We groan for diverse reasons; sometimes, we do not even know the root of our...

Yes, you are reading correctly. God’s will is for His people to suffer. As in the life of the Apostle Paul, suffering, i.e., his thorn in the flesh, moved Paul to not exalt himself, enabled him to humbly serve others, and rely on the power of All Mighty God rather than his own power. In this episode, we take care of a little bit of business, describe the necessity of suffering, our sanctification,...
