The Toledo Buffalo Soldiers and Off The Rails food truck are teaming up with community members to provide a healthy breakfast to kids who normally would have one at school or at the Wayman Palmer YMCA. Mack McCluster called in to Fred's show to talk about his efforts to get people involved in caring for each through the NW Ohio Emergency Preparedness. He is currently looking for volunteers for wellness checks on seniors, points of distribution, and security. TPS schools along with many others are shut down for three weeks. What happens next, what can parents do, how is the community helping? All these are answered in this interview with Dr Durant and Bob Vasquez of TPS and the Board of Education.

Councilperson Nick Komives spoke with Fred about the need for passage of Issue 1 on Tuesday's ballot. Nick believes, as does the mayor, that passage will ensure better roads and growth possibilities for the future of Toledo.

Jim Beard and John Sanchez stopped by to talk with Fred about this weekend's Fantasticon event at the Seagate Convention Centre. The show is Saturday and Sunday with comic book stores, author tables, an artists alley, cosplay for kids and adults, and special guests. Tickets are $9 per day or $12.50 for both days online.

Karl Borko teaches precision engineering at Start HS for TPS. His group of students and others at the school have been involved with NASA in the development of a rover for the Mars program. Karl stopped by to speak with Fred about the progress and brought along the chassis. Classes at Start are also giving back to the community with a Sleep In Heavenly Peace bed build this weekend. Gary Johnson is currently an at-large councilperson but wants to be Lucas County Sheriff. He's on the primary ballot March 17th. Johnson is running as a Democrat.

Current District 11 Central Committee member Bill Delany talks with Fred about what the Republican State Central Committee actually does and why he wants to retain his seat.

Chris Henderson and Elizabeth Cox stop in to speak with Fred about the upcoming fundraising dinner/gun raffle on Friday March 20. The event will be at Holland Gardens at 5:30p. Funds raised help support the 4-H programs in Lucas County of which Elizabeth is a member.

Wood County Plays wants to build an inclusive playground in Perrysburg. A fundraiser/concert event is scheduled for Saturday March 14 at Graystone Hall on Hufford Road The event which starts at 7p includes food, music, drinks, raffles. Rob Weber the Republican candidate for the 9th Congressional seat visited with Fred this morning to talk about his run for office. Mr Weber is an Army veteran, graduate of West Point, and a trial lawyer currently. He is being endorsed by Republican Party of Cuyahoga County, NW Ohio Conservative Coalition, and Ohio Right To Life PAC. His website is robweberforcongress.com

Carolyn Nagy, US Army veteran, talks with Fred about an upcoming event at The Genesis Village aimed at women veterans. The day includes living history talks, networking, health issues to name a few. Reservations are being taken now on the Women Veterans Initiative page on Facebook

Toledoan Marcus Henderson is hosting a Brunch Of Glory this Sunday at The Masonic Great Hall but his plans don't stop there. Marcus spent time with Fred on Friday talking about his new entertainment company.

The Northwest Ohio Classical Academy opened in Fall 2019 and is preparing for the 2020-'21 school year now. President Lee Strang visited with Fred to give an update and explain what the charter school is all about.

Maumee Valley Country Day School has a community art show which is open to the public. Hours are normal school hours 8:30a-3:30p Local artist Steve Athanas has a few pieces in the show and stopped by the show to talk about it.

Fred had a chance to speak with Dan Cobb a Republican running for Lucas County Recorder. They talked about what the job entails, how it might be streamlined, and what Dan's ideas for the office are.

Family House is the only Toledo facility that allows entire families to stay together while they are unhoused. Besides providing shelter the facility offers classes in budget management, child care, relationships, and employment. They get funds from government agencies but are planning a fund raiser of their own in June.

Keith Hodkinson, District Governor-Elect for District 6600 spoke with Fred about opportunities for you to join your local Rotary, and what Rotary does in the community.

The last day of February each year is rare disease day and this year Fred had on Deb Ayres and daughter Avalon who created the Avalon Foundation known as kidcaringforkids. Avalon suffers from HPP Hypophosphatasia a rare genetic disorder characterized by the abnormal development of bones and teeth. She began kidscaringforkids.org as a way to help other kids with HPP.

Sarah Townes from Experience Columbus surprised Fred with a visit this morning and had a great chat about upcoming events including The Arnold on March 5-8.

Fred spoke with Joe Verkeness a Sylvania Twp resident who is fighting against being annexed by the City of Sylvania. Also in studio Oliver Turner, Twp. Administrator and John Crandell, Twp Trustee. We have the latest on this long running fight.

Joe Heslinga has released a new documentary about the 70's craze Foosball, and yes it is very funny and entertaining. Fred had a chance to speak with the director, writer about his new film which is currently available on iTunes and Vimeo On Demand.
