As we begin a new year, we remember the promises of God, what he has called us to do and who he has called us to be. As Moses called the Israelites to remember, we too are called to remember the promises of God and to respond in obedience and trust. This is the Gospel According to Deuteronomy.

Isaiah 40:1-5 Christmas is a time of gift-giving. And, while this act can be corrupted by consumerism, it is ultimately meant to remind God's people to delight in the great gift the Lord has given us in Jesus.
