Forever Movie Boys: The 90th Annual Academy Awards! 06.03.2018

Surprise!  Cha'favourite podcasters decided to sneak in a lil bonus Oscar episode! Join drunk Maciej and sober Tobias before and after the ceremony as they evaluate their soothsaying abilities.  It's a long one, but nowhere near as long or boring as the actual ceremony, so come on in for a (relatively) quick recap of the nights events.  Enjoy! P.S. Francis McDormand refers to an 'inclusion rider'...

The Others: Bridge Of Spies 28.02.2018

Heyoo, we're back with another one of our "Others". It's Tobias' turn this week and he's keeping us on the Spielberg Train with the relatively recent "Bridge Of Spies". There's a lot of Mark Rylance love in this ep and surprisingly little talk about the actual film. Instead we take some larger detours into Steven Spielberg's general filmography and make a pit stop in William Friedkin-ville.  Next...

Forever Movie Boys: Black Panther 20.02.2018

After two weeks of faffing about, we finally get around to doing Marvel's "Black Panther"! We kick it off with a heartfelt eulogy to Ulysses Klaue, featuring some wonderful wordsmithery from Tobias, before sinking our cat claws into Ryan Coogler's latest.  Note: Though it sounds like Maciej is slowly huffing his way through a key of Colombian snow this episode, it's actually his hay fever playing...

The Others (??) : 1941 14.02.2018

SURPRISE! Y'all thought we were doing Black Panther this week, huh?  Well so did Tobias and Maciej before they sadly realised that the film isn't released in their remote island nation for another week. So, they decided to make a quick switcheroo and chip away at their 'Lists' a week early, making it a premature debut of our new episode concept. This week Maciej has ticked Steven Spielberg's 1941...

A very special Forever Movie Boys 08.02.2018

Hey all, so we had some technical difficulties with the latest ep so we've instead decided to brief you guys on some changes we plan on making very soon and how that should affect things moving forward! Tune in next week for our Black Panther episode! also: our Twitter is real! twitter.com/4everMovieBoys check it out for the latest on the FMB's!

Forever Movie Boys: The Commuter 01.02.2018

The boys cleanse their Oscar-Season palette with a decidedly non-Oscar-worthy film; that'd be Jaume Collet-Serra's, The Commuter! After debating the correct pronunciation of Collet-Serra's name, the boys ease into a discussion about The Commuter that could just as easily double as a discussion on previous Liam Neeson-trapped-in-a-vehicle vehicle, Non-Stop. Distraction abounds, and we get some heal...

Forever Movie Boys: The Shape of Water 24.01.2018

Tobi is back! To celebrate, Tobias and Maciej decided to tackle a film that for the Movie Boys was long, long overdue...and then decided to do The Shape of Water instead! In this ep we show lots of love for GDT's new film and Michael Shannon in particular (and not enough for the other Michael unfortunately). Tobi derails the show momentarily to squeeze in his 2 cents on Bright. And shout out to Ja...

Forever Movie Boys: Jumanji -Welcome To The Jungle (feat. Saleem) 17.01.2018

In our last episode before Tobi's return, our generous benefactor Saleem "The Dream" Abraham shoots the shit with Maciej about all things Jumanji...but mostly the sequel.  The boys get sucked into Jumanji's surprisingly spacious jungle and have no choice but to talk about this movie for an hour straight or until some benevolent player lands a 5 or 8 (spoilers: they don't). Enjoy

Forever Movie Boys: The Greatest Showman (feat. Phil) 10.01.2018

Tobi's still in Japan, so after a couple of wines, Maciej and his good chum Phillip took to the mic to discuss their mutual undying love for national treasure, Hugh Jackman.   So deep runs their love for The Greatest Showman, that the first 20 mins of the episode is dedicated to recapping his performance in Les Miserables before moving onto the P.T Barnum musical-biopic of the same name.  Fans of...

Forever Movie Boys: BRIGHT (feat. Nick) 03.01.2018

It's 2018 and to help ease us into a Tobiless episode, his loving brother Nick agreed to come on and help fill the void. In what unexpectedly turned out to be another monster episode, the boys talk David Ayer and Max Landis' multimillion dollar Netflix gamble, Bright. (Heads Up: a good chunk of this episode is dedicated to deciding which of Hollywood's current stable of actors could play a good Or...

Forever Movie Boys: The Last Jedi 23.12.2017

There's no denying Star Wars is BIG. Because of its BIG-ness, Tobi and Maciej spend 1.5 hrs rambling about the franchise's latest offering and barely scratching the surface (anyone hoping for some content about Benicio Del Toro and/or the entire Casino Planet sublot should look elsewhere). Things get murky as the boys jump into an underqualified discussion on feminism in Star Wars, but soon shift...

Forever Movie Boys DOUBLE: The Disaster Artist/Murder on The Orient Express 05.12.2017

Was James Franco's the Disaster Artist any good?  Did the film humanise Tommy Wiseau enough? Would you watch a buddy cop movie with James and Dave Franco? What is Tobi's favourite Simpsons episode? What if Ed Harris was in The Lord of the Rings? What is the correct pronunciation of denouement? All these questions answered and more in our very first double episode!  We talk about getting to see an...

Forever Movie Boys: Justice League 28.11.2017

Welcome to TobiSchool everybody; this week we learn about recently released Joss Whedon/Zack Snyder-assembled Frankestein's Monster also-known-as The Justice League.   After a brief cinematic DCU retrospective, we dive into this bland soup and fish around for the chunks that either make or break this gumbo.  Enjoy!

Forever Movie Boys: Only The Brave 17.11.2017

In a very musical episode, The Boys take a trip down Copperhead Road after a critics screening* of Joe Kosinski's firefighting epic "Only The Brave". Along the way they make ample time to express concern for Jeff Bridges' mental health and profess their love for all things Taylor Kitsch.  *special thanks to atebit.net for that one

Forever Movie Boys: Thor Ragnarok 04.11.2017

While waiting for calls to come in during our very special call-in episode, The Movie Boys fill in the gaps by talking over the positives and negatives of Marvel's latest offering. That being the Taika Waititi-directed superhero romp Thor: Ragnarok. enjoy

Forever Movie Boys: Blade Runner 2049 14.10.2017

Fresh from a double viewing of Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049, the boys dutifully spend 90 percent of the time trying to unpack the film, with just enough room to take potshots at Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu. This episode originally ran close to 90mins so we've shaved it down to a manageable...70, which is befitting of a film that runs close to 3hrs.

Forever Movie Boys: Gerald's Game 05.10.2017

The (movie) boys are back with another Stephen King adaptation! This time they break down the Mike Flanagan directed Netflix exclusive, Gerald's Game.  Much like the film, most of this episode is a build up to that sweet, sweet ending so we can talk about objectively the craziest part of the movie.  Also we'll use any excuse to butcher celebrity impressions and this week we have Michael Shannon an...

Forever Movie Boys: IT 18.09.2017

Maciej and Tobias talk about it. 'It' being the 2017 film adaptation of Stephen Lang-sorry- Stephen King's  arguably most popular novel: "It". They boys go a bit off the rails talking past and future King films and as a result this episode runs a tad long, but they at least agree on the creamy perfection of Jon Boyega's skin.

Forever Movie Boys: Death Note 13.09.2017

Tobias and Maciej discuss the  manga anime  Adam Wingard-helmed American remake of the popular Japanese property, Death Note and surprisingly culminates into a pitched fistfight between the usually amicable hosts. The boys pay tribute to Shea Wingham, lament about Lakeith Stanfield and repeatedly threaten to make a mess of Nat Wolff's pretty face.

Forever Movie Boys: Valerian and The City Of A Thousand Planets 31.08.2017

Maciej and Tobias celebrate Luc Besson's *4th(?) greatest film Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets.  Much disagreement is had over the film's quality, so of course this episode needed a brief retrospective of director Luc Besson's greatest films, a lengthy tangent into the career of cinematographer-turned director Barry Sonnenfeld, and Mark Wahlberg makes his triumphant return to muse on h...

Forever Movie Boys: The Atomic Blonde 20.08.2017

So unfortunately Tobias and Maciej stumble across a movie it seems they failed to enjoy on almost any level.  Unfortunately that movie is David Leitch's The Atomic Blonde. What follows is about 57mins of bitter disappointment. Caught in the crossfire are Tobey Jones's face and for some reason Chris McQuarrie (again). *also we refer to David Leitch as David Keitch in this episode which is most defi...

Forever Movie Boys e04: Dunkirk 03.08.2017

So Dunkirk is great. Tobias and Maciej talk about what they liked and maybe didn't like about Christopher "Chris" Nolan's latest flick. WARNING Teeth-grinding levels of nitpicking abound and a surprising chunk of this episode is dedicated to Bryan Cranston for some reason.

Still The MovieBoys: Spiderman Homecoming 12.07.2017

After a bad-movie streak, Tobias and Maciej muster an atypically measured discussion about Spiderman's first MCU adventure. Conversation varies from unsatisfying character arcs to our collective love of Logan Marshall Green and the durability of Michael Keaton's skin. Apologies for this episode folks, some tech trouble means this ep sounds like we recorded this in a bathtub...we're getting better...

Not The MovieBoys Ep02: Transformers The Last Knight 08.07.2017

Transformers: The Last Night is a gruelling 149 minutes long. Why not instead spend 69 minutes with Maciej and Tobias as they try their best to piece their brains together after seeing Michael Bay's final, skull-shattering film in the Transformers series.  Peter Cullen, Mark Wahlberg and Michael Caine(??) impressions abound.

I guess we're called Movieboyzz Ep 01: The Mummy 24.06.2017

Definitely not the "Movieboyz" talking about definitely not The Mummy. At least not Stephen Sommers' 1999 box office smash hit, The Mu m my.  A sensible discussion between Maciej and Tobias on the new Tom Cruise film with logical tangents into Jumanji, fighting Ryan Phillipe and Javier Bardem's waning career.
