Passage: John 6:22-40 Teacher:  Terry Michaels Many followed Jesus because they wanted something. For some it was a sign, for others it was a healing. Some even followed because they wanted bread. Jesus taught them to seek "food which endures to everlasting life.

Passage: John 5:1-15 Teacher:  Terry Michaels A lame man is made well. He is charged for carrying his bed on the Sabbath. Jesus is charged for healing on the Sabbath. Jesus answers that He is Lord of the Sabbath and that man wasn't made for the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for man.

Passage:   Hebrews 4:1-10 Teacher:  Terry Michaels Rest is found only in the Lord. It's promised to all who believe. We enter in by faith. Doubt is the ultimate robber of rest. This message encourages us to keep the faith so we can remain in His rest.

Drawing near to The Lord brings us to a place of rest. Distancing ourselves results in restlessness and, ultimately, rebellion. The heart grows harder. The neck gets stiffer. A deaf ear is turned to His voice. Hebrews 3 encourages us to turn our hearts toward the Lord that we might hear from Him and find perfect rest in Him. The family of God is a community. But how does a community remain intact under lockdown? How do we best respond to social distancing? These are challenging questions for challenging times. Yet we learn from the early church how to build community in times of global crisis

Passage: Hebrews 2:10-18 Teacher: Terry Michaels Typically we think about what Jesus did for us 2000 years ago, and surely He has done great things! But let us not forget what He is doing for us presently. Jesus is our help in time of need. He is the High priest that makes intercession for us. He is the captain of our salvation!

Passage:  Hebrews 2:1-9 Teacher:  Terry Michaels While Jesus was no angel, for a brief period in history He was made lower than angels. He become like us to die for us. Hebrews states, "God became flesh that He might taste death for all mankind.

What makes Jesus superior to angels? This was a question that came up in the early church. The author of Hebrews makes the case that Jesus is worthy of the worship and that angels are not, because Jesus is God.

We live in a culture fascinated with superheroes. The Book of Hebrews points to "The Greatest." His name is Jesus. This marks the beginning of our series, "Super Savior."
