This morning, just as God commanded them to set up these stones in remembrance, I have some stones I’d like to revisit with you. Both through the history of this church as well as what I have experienced of Church of the Foothills, we will get to look back and remember that our God is powerful and in control.

Sex is everywhere in this culture. Its found in marketing and promotions for business and corporations... sex sells right? Yet it's not in our Churches. For years the Church has shied away from this topic, leaving the only influence and teachings on the topic coming from the government, education, media and social media. Friends we are seeing the consequences of that right now.

As we continue to our summer series on the Song of Solomon, today we get to look at the wedding day, and more importantly the wedding night where we will see that God designed the best intimacy for a husband and wife to enjoy together.

Today we take another step in the Song that tops all songs. It is a song about love. It's a song about intimacy. And it's definitely a song about romance. But, fundamentally it's a song about healthy relationship. Love, romance, and physical intimacy will never blossom, if two people cannot fundamentally be in healthy relationship with one another.

If you're a single woman, the verses of The Song we are going to look at today, will help you understand the qualities to look for in a potential husband. If you are a husband, this will be a good refresher in the qualities we must seek to practice.

We are going to look at Paul's closing arguments where he explains that the reason for his upcoming visit to Corinth is to build up the church.

This week in Chapter 11 and the first part of Chapter 12 Paul shares a rather lengthy argument to reveal to us that we are designed to magnify Christ.

Last week Brian led us through chapter 9 where we learned that rich generosity leads to rich reward. Today, Paul shifts gears (without using the clutch) and jams the conversation into an entirely different direction.

This week as we step into Chapter 9 Paul continues to encourage them in this grace of giving and offers them more coaching on being as generous as possible. Today, in order to encourage them to excel in the grace of giving we're going to hear Paul teach them that while rich grace stimulates rich generosity...in turn, rich generosity leads rich reward.

Today's passage comes from Paul to the Corinthians, in 2 Corinthians 6, as a result of them continuing to participate in some of the heinous things the corrupt culture around them were engaging in.

Paul is once again explaining and defending his life and ministry among the Corinthians. And he begins by pointing out that his authenticity and validity as a genuine servant of God is evident by how he has conducted himself in the good times and in the bad times. In other words, he's saying, "You can tell I'm the real deal by how I have conducted myself in the great times and in the rotten times....

This is actually why Easter is so special. Easter celebrates the opportunity to hit the ultimate RESTART button in life! And since no one is perfect, the reality is every one of us could benefit from a second chance. Even if you feel your life is going pretty well right now, the reality is each of us needs to hit the restart button in our relationships with our creator at some point in our lives.

In order to take heart in hardship, it's helpful to remember God is doing this renewing inside each and every Christ follower, each and every day, as we open ourselves up to him and invite him to have his way in us.
