Lesson: Matthew 4:12-24. "But perhaps this is a place where relationships are such that we can speak up, disagree, and still love each other. That, my friends, is a taste of the kingdom, and I am deeply grateful for it."

Lessons: Isaiah 42:1-9; Matthew 3:13-17. “This is my child, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased.”[11] This is already true for each of us; for everyone. May we believe it, and live into it."

Lesson: Matthew 1: 18-25. "We can trust that God is with us. We can trust that God comes through ordinary, mixed-up people in order to save ordinary, mixed-up people, and that God comes through a birth like all the millions of other births in the world to show us that when we act with forgiveness and hope and trust, well then, the world changes."

Lessons: Isaiah 35:1-10; Matthew 11:2-11. "In Jesus' footsteps, with the power of the Holy Spirit, we are artisans of the new creation."

Lesson: Luke 1:46-55. "The people of God sing. In the Old and New Testaments, people sing in joy and sorrow, praise and lament. Music is God’s gift to us and in our congregation, we have a long history of appreciating the way music can stir us in a way words alone cannot."

Lessons: Ps 46:10, Isaiah 2:1-5 . "Advent is about hope. And, waiting. And, knowing God’s love is with and around us. We live into Isaiah’s dream and become part of the peace process as we take time for silence and stillness. We allow God’s refining fire, God’s light, to burn brightly in our hearts and in our lives."

Lesson: Deuteronomy 26:1-11; Luke 12:34. " I am passionate about the way we function as a true community center, housing a preschool, a center for adults with special needs, AA, a Wade Thomas Spanish class, Qi Gong, a fitness class, a martial arts group, the barbershop singers, Marin Girls’ Chorus, and on and on." ... Lesson: Isaiah 65:17-25. "Isaiah’s message from God is stunning in its simplicity and ability to transcend the ages. God desires us to be fulfilled: So, be glad and rejoice forever in what I (God) am creating."

Lesson: Luke 20:27-38. "But together, we can help each other catch the vision of that new life and new world that Jesus described, a life of inclusion and justice and freedom and shalom, and love. Together, working toward that vision, we practice resurrection. Together, we serve. May it continue to be so for at least another 116 years."

Lesson: Lesson: Luke 19:1-10. "Thanks be to God that Jesus follows us home. And thanks be to God for the saints of San Anselmo."'

Lesson: Psalm 65. "But what I will say is that in our tradition, our giving is the awe-filled and grateful response to the gifts from God our Creator, the Source of all that we are and all that we have, and an important way we partner with God in reforming God’s creation.

Royce Truex: "My great desire and hope is that what we do in this congregation proves that we all believe those things, that anyone looking at us will know that we treat everyone as a child of God, love the entire creation, are loyal to Jesus’ teachings, and, as members of the body of Christ, doing our best to be partners with God, doing God’s work in the world."

Lessons: Luke 17:11-19; Jeremiah 29:1, 4-7. “Hope is the ability to hear the music of the future. Faith is the ability to dance to that music now.”

Lesson: Psalm 37:1-6; Luke 17:5-10. "You do not get more faith by closing your eyes, trying really hard to feel or to believe something, or by clicking the heels of your ruby slippers together. More faith comes through faithful living. You can do it. We can help. And your faith will be increased, not as a personal achievement, but as a gift of God.

Lesson: Jeremiah 32:1-15. "There's an old Greek proverb which says that a society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit. I believe we can say the same thing about a great church. Trusting that God owns our tomorrow, may we, the church of Jesus Christ, have the courage and strength and faith to make that investment."

Lesson: Jeremiah 8:18-9:1. " I believe if we can cry together, our situation will change. Only to the extent that we remember that what we do to others is what we do to ourselves will we together be well again. Only then is there a balm in Gilead."

Lesson: Luke 15:1-10 "God loves ALL the sheep, ALL the coins, ALL the apartment seekers and landlords, children and parents, religious leaders and many more who make up our world and our lives. They are, we are, all precious in God’s sight. May we rejoice as a community of connected, messy, lost and found people, because we are so loved, and so precious in God’s sight."

Lesson: Jeremiah 18:1-4. "One place remains our home, whatever changes the culture blows our way: The love of God in Christ that continues to rework us, to form us into a people at one with God, with God's earth, and with one another."

Lesson Note: On the Sunday before Labor Day we celebrate Christian Vocation Sunday by hearing from three church members, who talk about how they live out their Christian faith on the job.

Lesson: Luke 13:10.17. "A modern day sabbatical honors this reality: a person’s productive capacity – our brains, our hearts – will be more productive and life giving if we get a break from the routine every now and then."

Lesson: Exodus 3:7-14 "God came to Moses, a seemingly insignificant shepherd, and asked him to take a risk for the good of all. When I AM calls...I hope we are listening. I am, we are God's children."
