The Bible has a lot to say about positions of responsibility in the church, and gives titles for the, but it only mentions one person who is the leader, and that is Christ.

The sins that diminish the Gospel are like weeds in a garden. In order for love to flourish, we need to eliminate the sins in our lives like you would pull weeds in a garden for flowers or fruits or vegetables to flourish.

Gospel love needs to be cultivated and nurtured, or it won't grow. Sins like envy and jealousy are like weeds that need to be pulled to help grow gospel love.

Caleb showed his faith in God, and that God would follow through on what He promised, that he requested the land where the giants lived when they devided up Canaan. We need this same conviction.

As we see from our text today, God's love can be seen and understood. And God's love is a lifestyle, not simply a momentary act or feeling. Also, God's love is greater than anything else you may pursue.
