Our Lord addresses the Church at Pergamum. Like the Church in Smyrna, the church at Pergamum was surrounded by paganism and emperor worship. Unlike the letter to Smyrna, the letter to Pergamum contains a mixture of commendation and rebuke.

God's sovereign plan includes providing a way of salvation for those who believe in Him.

In Revelation 2:8-11, the Lord addresses a letter to the church that met in the city of Smyrna. Unlike most of the seven churches in Asia, the church at Smyrna received no rebuke or correction from the Lord, only promises of blessing when they had endured suffering faithfully.

God Controls the rise and fall of nations and powers.

The Church at Ephesus had a solid beginning and many desirable qualities. However, Jesus gently rebuked them for failing to fan the flame of love.

In Daniel 10, the elderly prophet is grieved by the lack of progress Israel has made in reconstruction.  God responds to his anguished prayer by sending an angelic messenger to encourage Daniel concerning His sovereignty.

God expects believers to be good stewards of the bodies He has given them.

Daniel receives a second vision and a heavenly visitor giving him further details about future events.

God's people should seek to please Him in their attitudes and actions.

After a career of interpreting the dreams of other people, God gives Daniel a vision of the future kingdoms of the world including Christ’s eternal kingdom.

Following God's wisdom leads to joy, while failing to do so leads to grief.

After the Babylonian Empire fell to the Medo-Persians in 539 B.C. It didn’t take long for Daniel to prove his worth and his courage to the new administration.

God promises to provide His wisdom to those who search for Him.
