In our feature review, we’re taking a look at “Weird Al” Yankovic’s parody of musician biopics, “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”. It’s the completely untrue story of one man’s brave attempt to introduce the world to a new style of music. Also, we took a look at Three Thousand Years of Longing, Enola Holmes 2, and See How They Run.

Man! Scheduling has been hell recently but we finally were able to get together and run down a bunch of stuff we’ve been watching. Movies, TV, streaming shows, you name it, we talk about it. Today’s episode includes reviews of: Star Wars: Andor, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, She-Hulk, Luckiest Girl in the World, Barbarian, Me Time, Black Adam, Jolt, Clerks 3, and Hellraiser (2022).

First, see how the Lament Box was created in late-1700s France, then travel to current day in 1996, then final showdown on a space station in 2127! What a way to end this year’s RetroSpooktive!

Hellraiser hits the 90s. A struggling news reporter, Joey, sees a woman drop off a man in the emergency room who seemingly, by magic, is torn apart by chains. This sends her down the rabbit hole of evil leading her to a face-to-face confrontation with Pinhead and the Cenobytes – but also her Vietnam war hero father?

This time around, a doctor obsessed with finding out what the afterlife is like reincarnates the the soul of Julia – and she wants revenge. And she’s going to get it using the powers from Hell itself. Not just the Cenobites but also he entity Leviathan, in the shape of a gigantic, elongated diamond, that rotates in space above a labyrinth. Yeah, we’re serious.

When Frank opens a mysterious box, his life is forever changed. He’s taking to hell and shown the pleasure of pain. Meanwhile, his brother and new wife move into his old place with his niece. Blood is spilled on the same spot where Frank opened the box, bringing him back to life and the demons from Hell chasing him down as well.

I think . . . I don’t know.
