Feeding On Jesus

Just accept it. For the rest of your life, you're going to need a whole lot of grace. And for the rest of your life, there will be an abundance of it! God the Father designed for us to live lives completely dependent on this. Today we start a brand new series on this topic... come and join me!

Jesus was gentle with the bruised and broken. He was not quarrelsome, but wise in His responses. His life brought hope to the multitudes. Today we take a soak in these truths, meditating on His nature. May the same be said of us that is said of Him, as we walk in His footsteps! 

Life on Planet Earth includes inevitable hurt in relationships. How do we handle the overwhelming emotions that accompany betrayals and disappointments? Jesus has a way. You might be surprised by what He has to say about this...

How often do you live your life under the hunch that you are disappointing God... at least a little bit? If this is frequently the case, I have wonderful news for you. He is unceasingly proud of you. This is the unchangeable nature of His heart towards you.

Jesus' prayers for you are intervening on your behalf... right now. Right now, He is saving you through His personal intercession for you. And He calls you and me to learn to pray the way He does: nestled into the Father's bosom. 

Prayer was never meant to be burdonsome. Instead, God created it to be an overflow of our oneness with Him. As we inhabit our place "between His shoulders," His very own prayers bubble up within us and spill out in beautiful unison with His Spirit. 

God wants you to know that He remembers everything you have ever done for Him. He treasures each act and gift of love that you bring to Him. When you give Him something dear to your heart, it marks Him for all eternity. 

In order to stay encouraged in this life, we need to "see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." What does His goodness look like? Certainly, a longed-for outcome becoming reality would be a manifestation of His goodness. However, He wants even more than that for us. He wants us to see Him for who He is: a good, good Father. When we truly perceive His goodness, that is where true hop...

Our culture loudly trumpets the message that a successful life is one marked by wealth, status, and recognition by others. God has a completely different way of viewing our lives. Have we learned to love? This is the only question that will matter at the end of the day... and the end of all things.

Is humility synonymous with self-criticism? Not in the slightest. True humility develops when we become entirely taken with the beauty of Jesus. As our gaze moves move and more onto Him, we forget about being too focused on ourselves. What glorious freedom results when He becomes our everything! 

The enemy cannot fathom humility. He has no frame of reference for it. He has no defense against it. When you choose humility, you choose spiritual safety. Humbling yourself vanquishes your foe -- every single time.

God's mindboggling plan of voluntarily dying for us took the devil by complete surprise. He thought he was pulling off an absolute victory, stirring up those in power to kill Jesus. Then he found out that it was actually his most humiliating defeat instead. In the same way, every time he tries to harm you and me, God turns it around for our good. This is His secret wisdom!

Did Jesus say, "Follow me, and become self-made men"? Nope. Instead, HIs words of invitation were, "Follow me, and I will make you..." As we respond to that call, He Himself is going to transform us into what we were born to be. What is our part? Simply to be with Him.

Does it seem to you like there are some people with a direct line to heaven... but others who struggle much more to connect with God? How does He pick the ones that get to have that special connection with Him? This week we dig into these wonderful questions. Spoiler alert: You get to be His chosen friend!

Jesus has promised to make known your Father to you. He intends on doing this continually, so that we would know Him better and better. The end result of this will be that His amazing love will ever be on the increase in our lives. In fact, Jesus longs for us to experience the same endless love the Father has for Him!

In God's hands, time is an elastic, expandable substance. He can pack a mind-blowing amount of value into a tiny fraction of our lifespans. He really does mean it when He says that He will restore to us the years that the locusts ate. You and I can fully trust the Master of Time!

Are you in need of clarity and direction? You've come to the right place. Jesus IS your wisdom. Let's lean into close relationship with Him. As we walk with the Wisest of all, we will resemble Him more and more. The way forward will become peacefully clear as we learn to just be with Him.

Sometimes the heartache that we face in this life seems deeper than we can handle. Jesus has a word for our hearts about this. His love is able to reach us in the middle of the worst pain we face. Nothing in all of creation can take that healing love from us.

Every day of our lives, there is a mind-bogglingly brilliant light beaming out of our spirits. Today let Holy Spirit open your eyes to see what He sees in you!

What would happen if we gave and gave and gave without ever receiving from God? What would happen if we poured out everything inside… and never got filled back up? Would we last very long? This week we talk about the vital importance of replenishing our souls as a regular part of our weekly rhythms.

God is exceedingly busy running the universe, but He is NOT too busy to take time for you. When you call out HIs name, all of His attention is on you. He cares tenderly about everything that is important to you.
