Als Marcel Reich-Ranicki vor vier Jahrzehnten die Frankfurter Anthologie begründete, war nicht abzusehen, wie lange dieses Experiment Bestand haben würde. Auch nach vierzig Jahren ist der ewige Vorrat deutscher Poesie keineswegs aufgebraucht. Dennoch ist es an der Zeit für eine Öffnung. So wird sich die Frankfurter Anthologie, die von Oktober 2014 an von Hubert Spiegel betreut wird, künftig der Poesie aus aller Welt widmen: Neben deutschsprachigen Gedichten soll auch fremdsprachige Lyrik behandelt werden, sofern sie in einer angemessenen Übersetzung vorliegt.
