The Letter to the Hebrews is a book with an uncertain origin but an incredibly clear message: Jesus is Better! In this episode, Pastor Adam talks about how Jesus is better than church... wait, what?

Isaiah is an important prophet both for the nation of Israel and for Christians throughout the ages. Isaiah equally spoke to his day as he does to ours and he spoke directly about the suffering of the messiah. As usual we will talk about human story, the landmines and where Jesus is seen.

People often pray for "godly leaders" but would we recognize them if God answered our prayers, or would we say "that can't be it God, you've got the wrong person!". We'll talk about that and more today.

This week we finish the book of 2 Samuel and reflect on the story of King David and the final lessons we are left with.

The Bible is full of prophecy, as we have already seen in the Torah, the Historical Books and the Poetic Books. But this section of the Bible is specifically written by Jewish prophets to convey the messages that God had given them. We'll talk about what separates them, show the Prophetic books are themselves divided into two sections and who their main focus is: Jesus.

Elijah is waiting for the next step, and in the meantime he's been sent by God to hide out in a backwater amongst people he might consider enemies. Yet none of that time was wasted. We'll talk about how God used that "down time" to accomplish great things in Elijah's life and the world around him.

In chapter 23 we read the final words of King David before the end of his life. We also see an official list of those warriors who were notable during David's reign, but what might be most interesting are the names of note among the Jewish people who weren't born Jewish. What does that mean for us in the church today? We'll talk about in on episode 84 of the 20 Minute Bible Study.

It's a book so divisive that people can't even agree one what to call it. Its a book unlike any other in the Old or New Testament. It's a book about sex, but also about Jesus? Today on Starting Points we look at the Song of Solomon/Song of Songs.

The world will not go on like this forever. The pain, suffering, war, greed, corruption, human trafficking will come to an end. In Revelation 20 and 21 we are shown a vision of our great hope that Jesus will establish his kingdom and bring an end to the madness.

Joab is a man who plays a large roll in King David's life. He wasn't a good man, but in this specific moment, he's exactly the man David needed as he begins to put the kingdom back together after civil war.

This week we talk about the Psalms. This might be the most uncontroversial book in the Bible. Some people love them, others pan the Psalms as "Bible-lite" but what are they about and why did God choose to place them in his book?

Happy Father's Day! Revelation 19 is the public proclamation of the God's invitation to escape the coming devastation... hey, that rhymes! This week we will see the fate of all how have followed Jesus faithfully and the fate of the two beasts: the anti-christ and the false prophet.
