How should we react to the pandemic in our world? The devil would like to make us fear. Ultimately he wants us to fear death and make us despair of God. But God is stronger than the devil. He will not let His possessions and house - us Christians - be overcome. Take peace in the medicine of immortality that the Divine Physician Jesus gives.

When we say, “It’s God’s will,” are we saying that God is in fact intending evil?  Or when we say “It wasn’t God’s will,” are we saying that God is actually helpless to do something, or maybe that He just doesn’t care? The ironic thing is that when something happens that we love and that makes us happy, we are more than willing to say “this is God’s will.”  When perhaps it’s not God’s will at all....

Guest preacher: Rev. Josh Mayer. The head of anything always takes the blame. Our sin causes us all to be heading on a path towards death. But Jesus, takes the blame for us, and he leads us in a new direction.

St. Paul says "be reconciled to God," and we think we can do this by the law. We try to convince God that we've changed. But we haven't. Rather, we are reconciled to God though the Gospel. Jesus becomes sin so we can become righteous and God says we've changed. We're reconciled.

There’s this interesting line in Matthew’s account: “After Jesus was baptized, he immediately went up out of the water. Suddenly, the heavens were opened for him!" This line describes what baptism does for each person who is baptized.

The tactic that many churches try to grow the Church is antithetical to the advice St. Paul gives in Romans 12:16-21. Jesus also, in Matthew 8:1-13 stretches out His hand and welcomes the most unlikely people.
