The Christian life is a marathon lined with all kinds of obstacles and distractions. When we set our eyes on Jesus instead of our circumstances, He renews our strength to follow Him with joy.

As we follow Christ, one of the ways we derail ourselves is by comparing someone else’s path to our own. But we all have a unique part to play in the road marked out for us.

When life gets hard, remember that we stand on the shoulders of giants. God encourages us to persevere by looking back on the faithfulness of those who have come before.

There is no love, no mercy, no other like him. From persecution, to death on the cross, to rising from the dead - Jesus is like no other.

Jesus redefined Israel’s expectations of what the Messiah would look like. Rather than being a military hero, he died on a cross. Christians should pattern our lives on the life of Jesus. We are called to be humble and obedient, even in the face of suffering.

In prayer, Jesus warmly invites us to "ask, seek, and knock," assuring that despite the lack of predictable outcomes, a universal journey unfolds, rooted in trust. It's a trust that embraces the goodness of God, His comforting presence in our struggles, and the promise that He will beautifully renew all things.

Turn to God when you face any trial or temptation, and he will deliver you. Adversity can lead us into a deeper union with God or deeper into sin—it is all about who or what you turn to for comfort during those times.

A believer regularly prays for forgiveness. Is your prayer life marked by prayers for forgiveness or for vengeance?

The Lord provides exactly what you need. Instead of praying for what you want, have you ever thought about praying for God to change your desires?

Believers should be praying for the reign of God to come. What does it mean for you personally to see God’s will done “on earth as it is in heaven”?

The name of God deserves your attention and respect. When you approach God in prayer, do you approach him as a loving Father or a distant mystery?
