We are back with Part Two of Chapters 59-74. If you haven't watched part 1 go back and do that here: https://youtu.be/_heNVFq2YLk This portion we talk about Lyria & Ephraim. We get the sadness of loss as well as the best spaceship scene in the series. That's right, for once we actually talk spaceships. #redrising #piercebrown #sciencefiction #booktube #podcast #literature #goldenson #m...

It's Dark Age Chapters 59-74 and Badger is with us, what does that make? TRAUMA! We got so in-depth this episode we had to break it into two. This first part looks at Lysander and Darrow's part of the stories. Do you think Lysander has reason to believe the low colours are happy?? Crescent's therapy shirt can be purchased here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/fadetoobsidian/shop #redr...

We are once again joined by every Howlers favourite wine, Merlot! We're talking Dark Age Chapters 45-58. We're talking space crashes, pea code tattoos and the scariest person in the solar system. This week we kick off with some trauma with the Day of Red Doves (Chapter 31). You know, the happiest chapter in Dark Age. Salem joins us to discuss mops, while Skipper rants about Dragons. We get the worst of Mustang's chapters with the best of Ephraim. What part stood out for you the most of this? Drillbit joins us this week for Chapters 16-30 of Dark Age. I hope you like stories because we have a lot. We're talking more war, injured generals, but also Jack Sparrow-esque escapes. More Den Dunks, and a lot of talk about coffee. What are your feelings towards these chapters of the books?? #redrising #piercebrown #sciencefiction #booktube #podcast #literature #goldenson #morningstar #IronG...

It's the week of the DenDunk. Summit joins us to dip our oreos in whisk(e)y. Have you tried it yet? What did you think?? OH! We're also talking about the beginning of Dark Age. Lots of comparing Lysander to Darrow, and looking at how they've both grown over the years. What do you think of our take on how Lysander is written? Do you agree he is necessary for the story? #redrising #pierc...

For the record this episode is named because of Captain Jack Sparrow and not because Skipper showed up tipsy, straight from sailing. Salem joins us once again to talk ALL of Pierce Brown's Iron Gold. It's a long one because we cover pretty much every possible relationship in this book and ignore all the spaceships. Poor spaceships. #redrising #piercebrown #sciencefiction #booktube #podcast...

BOLD joins us this week to discuss the end of Iron Gold! We end on quite a few loose threads, prepping us for Dark Age! What POV was your favourite and why is it not Lysander? Also, what's your opinion on Darrow retiring? Could the movement go on without him?? #redrising #booktube #piercebrown #sciencefiction #literature #goldenson #morningstar #podcast

Dram & Hydro are back to discuss Cassius once again. It's Iron Gold Chapters 30-47, so we have a bit more character development of our dolphin boy. But is it enough for him to deserve redemption?? We also discuss the heist, Darrow's new plan, and of course get WAY off topic of what may or may not happen in Tulsa. #redrising #booktube #piercebrown #sciencefiction #literature #goldenson...

Hawking is back with us this week as we talk Iron Gold Chapters 18-30. We avoid talking about Lysander yet again, and focus on the family dynamics of the Raa. We get to see Deepgrave, meet everyone's favourite mass murderer, and become a tourist with Lyria. Also, please send us your impressions of deepgrave stuck in Marianas Trench on instagram. #redrising #booktube #piercebrown #sciencefictio...

We have started Iron Gold. Alcatraz joins us to discuss the beginning for all 4 Point of Views, the family ties, and what a roadtrip in a space Winnebago looks like! We are talking about the end of Morning Star. So much to wrap up what we thought was going to be the end of a series. Salem joins us to discuss all the important things including Space Pregnancy and how to remove a tongue. Skipper spends the entire episode lost at sea. So if that was on your Glittering Gala bingo card, you are welcome. Please note that this was recorded BEFORE the Glittering Gala!...

It's the debate of the century, is the Poet a good guy or a bad. Scarlet steps up to defend Roque against a very passionate Crescent. Skipper is just here to talk about a guy who died in 1805. We also talk about the Rim vs Core, matricide and the love of claw drills. #redrising #booktube #piercebrown #sciencefiction #literature #goldenson #morningstar #podcast

Pour one out for our moderately friendly giant. This week we are talking Morning Star 17-32. Merlot joins us so we can drink our sadness away about Ragnar, overanalyze the feminist agenda, and discuss how much pain the mohawk went through. #redrising #booktube #piercebrown #sciencefiction #literature #goldenson #morningstar #podcast

The beginning of Morning Star is a hard one. Badger joins us to talk the box and every relationship Darrow has ever had. Let us know what type of a creature you thought the "Sea Demon" was. #piercebrown #booktube #bookstagram #podcast #redrising #sciencefiction #goldenson #morningstar #sciencefiction

This week we are talking the end of Golden Son. Probably the most traumatic scenes of the entire trilogy, but also we get a Fade To Obsidian moment! Other highlights involve Skipper knowing too much about Lord Nelson, while Salem & Crescent argue about winter sports. What do you think Skiing on Mars is like?? Remember to join the Howler's Den to get in on the action: https://discord.gg/the...

This week we're covering Golden Son Chapters 25-39. With Rocket to help us we take a deep dive into war rooms, mythological creatures, and of course the Iron Rain. We've got lots of relationships, and space ships on this episode.

This week we're talking about Golden Son 14-24 and it is a LOT. Relationships, Space ships, and breakfast. We even had to skip the entire rescue so that this episode didn't take hours! Hawking was fabulous to talk to with his wealth of knowledge. Gave Crescent a run for his money!! Skipper's Pop Culture Read Through: https://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/4y38hb/red_rising_pop_culture...

This week on Fade to Obsidian we discuss Pierce Brown's Golden Son chapters 1-13. We were joined by the fabulous Hurricane to talk Victra, Theodora, and other complex female characters. As well as the gala and the first ship to ship battle. There was a lot to cover this week, what did you think we missed? Let us know in the comments below your thoughts on these chapters! As always remember to join...

This week on Fade to Obsidian is a filler episode. Crescent, Skipper, and Salem hung out discussing Red Rising, as well as Canadian pronounciation. Next week we'll be back in line with Golden Son episodes 1-13. I promise it'll be more coherent than this.  #redRising #PierceBrown #GoldenSon #Booktube #Bookstagram #booktube #sciencefiction #scifi #literature

This week on Fade to Obsidian Salem joins us to discuss the last portion of Pierce Brown's Red Rising. We get into Mustang & Darrow, all the small fights and the large ones. Salem tells us how to get out of zipties, Skipper insults most of Canada, and Crescent drinks really expensive scotch. What more can you ask for!?  Please fill in the Golden Son survey here: https://s.surveyplanet.com...
