In Acts 2:21, the Apostle Peter said that “whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Inasmuch as this verse clearly states that the required action results in being saved, it is essential that we find out what exactly what it means to “call on His name.” Pastor Riggen provides the Scriptural definition to this phrase on today’s podcast.

When asked what one must do in order to find salvation, many Christians respond by saying that a person must “Accept the Lord as their Personal Savior, and they’ll be saved.” While this may be the most popular response, is it, in fact, the true, Biblical response? Being converted is a glorious thing which everyone needs to experience. It should be understood, however, that true conversion is more than a one-time encounter by which a person is saved. The Bible does not provide the actual day of Jesus’ birth. Furthermore, many traditional Christmas celebrations have been connected to pagan forms of worship. With this in mind, Pastor addresses what our attitude should be toward celebrating Christmas on December 25.

In Matthew 12:36, Jesus said that we will one day give an account for every idle word we speak. At the same time, however, the Bible clearly offers us the promise of forgiveness. Most Christians are well aware that Adam’s wife, Eve, was created from a rib taken from his side. What they may NOT be aware of, however, is how that particular fact serves as a beautiful illustration concerning Christ and the Church.
