For Isaiah, the revealing of future events was like looking at a mountain range from a distance. He knew what would happen, but the exact timeline was difficult to know. Yet, he trusted God. We get the privilege of living between the mountains. We have seen the first advent; this gives us even more confidence in the second. 

John clearly identified Jesus as the Messiah. He is so sure of it he actually steps aside for the Messiah. However, after being imprisoned John asks Jeus, "Are you the one, or should we look for someone else." We explore why John asks this question. 

This week we explore how John the Baptist fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy of the one crying in the wilderness.

Jesus fulfills the prophecy of the servant found in Isaiah 42.

After instructing that unity would bring about maturity, Paul begins to describe what that maturity will look like. 

After calling us to maintain the unity that God created, Paul emphasizes our own assignments within the oneness that is in Christ.

After establishing theology, Paul begins to explain how we should live based on this theology.

Based on Ephesians 2:12 did all gentiles go to hell? 

After his digression Paul continues on to his prayer for the church.

Because of God's great grace Paul begins a prayer but gets sidetracked.

Paul describes how the gospel changes our relationships.

Paul explains the how of salvation.

After the benediction, Paul begins a prayer for the saints in Ephesus.

God has blessed us beyond measure. In Ephesians 1 Paul greets the church and then gives a benediction describing how God has blessed us.

To better understand the letter to the church at Ephesus we examine how the church was planted and grew. 

Unity is both good and pleasant, because God created us to live in unity. Psalm 133 does not explain how to live in unity, but does help us understand how important it is.

We covered this psalm to answer a question from our question-a-bowl: "How can David be a man after God's own heart when he had multiple wives?"

The Psalmist reminds Israel of their failures but comforts them with God's faithfulness. Even in our failures, God is still faithful. 

Our life has a story, often times we make our story the most important story, the one all other stories revolve around. But the truth is our story is just a small part of God's larger story. reminding ourselves of God's larger story helps us live out our story well.

The Psalmist uses creation to show how great God is. 

In Mark 9 Jesus asks a man if he believes. The man replies, "I believe, help my unbelief." This man describes what most of us go through. We all struggle with belief, so what tools does God give us to help with our unbelief? I believe Psalm 103 gives us the answer.

Our lives are finite, but God is eternal. If our lives are to have value, meaning, or purpose we need to live for that which is eternal.
