It's hot out there - and in here, in the latest English Time CovidCast we're talking Covid-19, of course, but also the TIE, the card that will now be issued to British residents. The British Consul Charmaine Arbouin explains what is happening, what you do and don't need to do - and asks, in general, for tourists on their way here to have a bit of common sense!

Janet and Clio look at some of the mixed messages coming from the UK and Ireland to travellers, from governments and health officials, more on airport controls, and a further nudge to visitors listening to make sure they have their masks with them. They even sneak in a Eurovision Song Contest reference!

Do we need to take touirsm easy - what Janet and Clio are discussing is the need, perhaps, to take it very easy as we welcome tourists back to the Canary Islands....otherwise it's one step forward and more than one or two back. Also, what the heck is the news about the introduction of the TIE for British nationals - you will have to listen to find out.

School results are in - the kids, the parents and the teachers deserve a huge round of applause: tourists are on the way back but they want to know why everything isn't open yet! And the King and Queen of Spain probably took home a bunch of Canarian bananas from their visit this week - Janet and Clio discuss the week's events

The first UK visitors have arrived to the islands - so what do we need to remind visitors to do? Masks, distancing, hand washing. Will it be harder for visitors to abide by the new rules? Hopefully not. Janet and Clio chat about this, about beaches, and a summer series of free open air cinema and live concerts being planned in the borough of Adeje.

Remembering Dame Vera Lynn who died this morning, Janet and Clio talk tourism, the huge investment the Spanish government has just promised into the industry, and when/if British tourists are coming back next week? There is also news of a national ceremony on July 16th to remember all those who have died...
