Endless Blue
Endless Blue
Endless Blue, a trip-hop and downtempo fusion duo, was formed in 2003 by Minneapolis-based musicians Nick Mitchell and Laura Hillman Mitchell. Endless Blue's music blends sultry and soulful melodies with vintage synths, jazz-filled bass lines, bluesy guitar riffs, and lo-fi beats. Over the last 20 years Endless Blue has collaborated with numerous musicians and has recorded 13 albums and EPs with a combination of original tracks and covers in Endless Blue's signature style. Listeners can expect song themes tackling everything from relationships, identity, loss, and mental health.

MMM July - Walktop 19.07.2025 3:48
Monthly Music Mission for July. Used only the Brian Funk Cassette Synth pack for all instrument sounds, and for the theme of "On the Go" I produced the track only using my performance laptop. Got a glitchy vibe early on so rolled with it.

Old Dollar Mamie 27.06.2025 3:22
Not exactly sure how this one came about, but it all started with a cool chain-gang sample. It built out over the years into this track, heavily influenced by Moby's Play.
MMM June - Thunder 22.06.2025 4:25
MPC Monthly Music Mission - June - Use reversed instruments - Use "looking back" as a thematic element I used a few reversed instruments for the main and chorus melodies. Vibe-wise I went with a melancholy feel (I mean obvs), adding a choir over the chorus with sad chords.

MMM May - Freaky 20.05.2025 4:27
MPC Monthly Music Mission May Goals for this music mission: 1 - Use an infrequently used resource 2 - Use a spring reverb impulse 3 - Use guitar chord sample I used the Arturia MiniFreak, a synth I rarely use and wanted to get to know better, for all the synth sounds. I used the spring as a send for my general mix reverb. Gave it a touch of swing to get a groove.

The Jack (Endless Blue vs. AC/DC Mix) 29.04.2025 5:46
I was sent on a quest. Not a noble one, mind you, but one that tickled just the right neurons that caused this particular genius / atrocity. I like the lumpiness of the beat and got to play with a bunch of production ideas. So win I guess?

State of Us 02.04.2025 4:41
Unexpected Guests is a collection of odds and ends -- songs unearthed during the brutal lockdown months. One track was originally a beat for a hip-hop artist, another is a track originally recorded nearly 20 years ago and rebuilt from the ground up, yet another was rescued from a film soundtrack that was never finished, much less released. This EP lets these songs breathe again and see the light o...

Jamuary 2025 - Day 31 - Dogfood 31.01.2025 6:36
And that's a wrap for Jamuary 2025! Just another slowcore jam, chorus with some fun chord choices. Vocal melody in there for sure.
Jamuary 2025 - Day 30 - All You Can Eat 30.01.2025 4:28
Another vintage electro hip-hop track, this time using only synth sounds played from my Korg X5. Pure cheese y'all.
Jamuary 2025 - Day 29 - Cassette 29.01.2025 3:37
Studio was occupied most of the night, so I wrote this one in an easy chair. Kept it very simple, but it's missing vocals, which I have a topline in mind that I tossed on a voice memo but not here.
