As we see once more Jesus dealing with sin in His Church, we also discover why He does this. CHAPTER 2 verse 23 “…. And all the Churches shall know that I am He such searcheth the reins and hearts”. Revelation 2:18-29 Like the other Churches in Revelation, Thyatira had both successes and failures. They were great in their love and their service and they were full of works and patient endurance. As the Head of His Church, Jesus not only Grows and Blesses and Nurtures us, but He also chastises and rebukes and punishes us. At Pergamos, He came with harsh judgment, yet, even in the midst of that, His precision like surgical strike protected those that were not guilty. Revelation 2:12-18 Jesus Christ loves His Church. More than we can ever know. But He loves it with a love that’s perfect and perfect love has judgment. When people brought in false doctrines and false teachers, it put Jesus in a position where He had to defend His Church, He had to protect His Church. He still does so today. Revelation 2:12-18 Between Balaam and the Nicolaitans, Pergamos was besieged by compromising doctrines. Jesus promised to fix this problem, and it wasn’t going to be pretty. Revelation 2:12-18 Pregamos, known as the compromising Church, yet this was a strong Church with radically transformed Christians. Sure they had saints within that held to compromising Doctrines but at the end of the day, this is the Church that God chose to send into the midst of Satans stronghold, they had heroes such as Antipas who led the assault on satans kingdom. 5/9/21 The Church at Smyrna was called the persecuted Church....and rightly so. Those who called themselves Jews stirred the pagan society to great acts of persecution against them. Yet, there was a more accurate description of the saints at Smyrna. They were the Heroic Church. Heroes went to that Church, as they gave glory to God not only in life, but in death as well. Jesus reveals Himself to us throughout the Bible, but in the book of Revelation, we get a picture of Jesus nowhere else to be found. Jesus, the head of His Church in action, commending, encouraging, protecting, cleansing, rebuking and rewarding us as He perfects that which concerns us. Jesus, Paul, Peter, Jude, the writers of the Gospels, all warned us in the Church about dark days ahead before His return. The Church has gotten lazy regarding the way we examine those we allow to minister to us. We can cut corners when we build a house or perhaps hand in a report, but there must be no lackadaisical effort. no compromise when it comes to God's Kingdom. The apostle Paul was the most persecuted man in the Bible. He was beaten, he was whipped he was shipwrecked he was imprisoned...and so much more, till he was finally killed for his faith. Yet, he never gave up. Matter of truth, he called what he did.... a Wonderful Ministry. That’s endurance, Paul encourages us all by this great witness.
