In May of 2002, two St. Louis, MO. firefighters were killed and another injured, during a firefight in a 2 story vacant commercial building. Air management and SCBA malfunctions were identified as potential contributing factors to these deaths. Please join us to listen and learn more.

In May of 2023 two firefighters drowned during a water rescue attempt in the small parish of Saint-Urbain, Quebec. In April of 2017, a FDNY firefighter fell from the aerial platform that he was operating during a multi-family dwelling fire. Similar to the 2009 Texas LODD incident, the platform got caught on the parapet wall of the building.

On a windy April afternoon in 2005 in the small town of Evanston, Wyoming two volunteer firefighters died during a residential fire in a townhouse searching for two children. This fire in a community and home that could be anywhere in North America is worth learning about. Please join us and listen in.

In March of 2021 a firefighter died during a very complex fire and rescue operation at an assisted living facility in Rockland NY. 117 residents and staff we rescued while fighting a delayed alarm deep seated fire in an old multiple building structure, with inadequate water supplies. During a winter snow storm in January 2001, St. Thomas firefighters responded to a 4 story seniors apartment building for a report of smoke. A seemingly routine call. Please listen to learn more.

In January of 2020 the Peculiar Fire protection district in Missouri responded to house on fire in a rural area. The fire was possibly in the laundry room of the home with heavy contents conditions. A series of unfortunate events occurred that resulted in the death of a 30yr old firefighter.

In December of 2009 the small St. Anna Fire department of Wisconsin, responded to a dumpster fire at a local business. This was not your ordinary dumpster fire and it killed one firefighter and injured others. To learn more, please take a listen.

This tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of three FDNY firefighters trapped in a hallway flow path, in a wind driven fire was a significant event in the fire service. As a result of this incident and other similar one's subsequent scientific research on fire behavior changed the way we fire fires today.

In the evening of November 2. 2012 Chicago firefighters were called to a smoke in the area call that resulted in the loss of life of a veteran Chicago Firefighter, due to a rapid fire progression event. Listen to learn more from the NIOSH report.

Please join the group as we review the NIOSH report of the Deutsch Bank fire that occurred in August of 2007, where 2 FDNY firefighters were killed and 115 other injured, during this 7 alarm fire in a high rise under demolition, as a result of damage that happened on 9/11.

In September of 2019 five firefighters from the Milford Haven Fire Rescue Service were performing Water Rescue training in two boats. Suddenly the boats collided at speed and one firefighter was fatally injured. Please listen and learn more about this low frequency-High risk event.

In August of 2000 a career firefighter was drowned during spontaneous water rescues on or near community roadways in a suburban area, after a summer storm flooding event. preplanning, situational awareness, training, lack of personal flotation devices and wearing structural firefighting gear during water rescues, all played a role in this fatality.

A gas leak resulting from un-permitted directional boring caused an explosion that fatally injured a firefighter and injured several others in Sun Prairie WI in July of 2000.

In July of 2013 a Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service firefighter died and another was injured when they became disoriented and unaccounted for in a commercial business fire, after shift change, from day to night shift on the fireground.
