We've all hurt someone, probably more than we'd like to admit. All too often our lives are like the story of Jacob and Esau, brother against brother, betraying and hurting those we love most. What do we do when we hurt someone? How do we move forward and right that wrong? Like Jacob, we must admit our mistake and humble ourselves, only then can hurt turn to healing.

Words are tricky things. They can help or they can harm, lift up or tear down, spread lies or encourage truth. Proverbs tells us that our words are powerful—they have the power to bring death or to bring life. How are you using your words? 

Whether we're 20 or 60 years old, so many of us have our sex life out of order. But luckily, God explains His heart on sex in the book of Proverbs. God sets boundaries for sex, something the world doesn't always do. Ultimately God wants the best for our sex lives, and through His word He'll help us get that area in order.

Money is something we all have to deal with. Whether we have a lot or not enough, money is always going to be part of our lives. But how do we use our money the way God intended it? We may not forget those memories, those sins, but Jesus will forgive them.

God shows us that a fire from him can refine us, it can build us up and help us to live out our purpose. It's one thing to start a fire in our hearts, but how do we keep that fire going? How do we set our hearts ablaze? Good fires need oxygen, heat, and fuel to sustain them. We need time with God, community, and a passion for doing something about our faith to keep the fire in our hearts from going out.

There's a fire that exists inside each of us when we're in the presence of God. But how do we ensure that the condition of our heart is right to ignite a sustainable fire and not just flames that flare up only to burn out? We begin by inviting God's presence into our lives, cleaning out sin, and surrendering control. Do you want your heart set on fire?

We don’t have to have all the answers about God, we just have to have a story WITH God. How do we share our story with a world who doesn’t care to hear it?

Each one of us has a story. And the truth is, God can use our story to change someone else's story. But in order for God to use our story we have to share it, we have to tell the whole town. Who needs to hear our story this week? Or better yet, who needs to hear God's story through our own story?
