Want to grow in humility? Take a look at Paul's example, and ask yourself three questions: Whose opinion matters most to you? Who gets credit for what you have? What do you expect out of your life?

Paul shifts our focus off of ourselves and puts it on the God whose people we are. He shows us what God is doing among us, what God wants from us, and what God had given to us.

When Jesus asked the Father to glorify him, what did he really want?

With his final words to his disciples before the cross, Jesus commands them to take heart, and tells them why they should.

Jesus promises his disciples that after his death and resurrection, their sorrow will turn to joy! And Jesus says that no one will ever be able to take the joy of knowing Christ away from those who follow Him. This un-takable joy is anchored in Christ’s resurrection: no one can take our joy because no one can take Jesus from us, not even death.

Paul tells the Thessalonians that they can expect lawlessness in this world because Christ has not come yet. He will come soon, but until then Christians must not be deceived like those who stubbornly refuse the Word - they must stand firm in it.

The Helper helps us see our need for Jesus, and he helps us see the goodness of Jesus.
