In this series, we have discussed knowing that there will be troubles, tests of our faith, opposition, persecution... plenty of potential for discomfort. With all the bad news, let's wrap up this conversation together with some good news... God is still God!

We’re reminded that troubles are a reality. We shouldn’t fear suffering for Christ.

We shouldn’t be surprised by the craziness we see happening on this earth, Jesus said this would be the case. Our tendency is to have fear and anxiety. Our hope lies in Jesus, not in the world. Let the discomfort of the world point us to the Comforter of our hearts and minds.

We like comfort. We crave comfort. BUT... what if comfort is not always best for us? The goal in this multi-week conversation is to help you grow more comfortable with being uncomfortable.

How do we recognize if we have forsaken our first love and what can we do about it??

In a world full of gods, gurus, and good people… why would anyone choose to follow Jesus?

We must be very attentive to the reality that our lives speak volumes to the people around us. The goal is to bring people closer to Jesus, not to push them further away. So, how do we love strangers, co-workers and our neighbors?

In what practical ways can we show love towards one another, and ultimately be the neighborhood for people that represents Jesus well, and inspire others to follow Him?

What does it truly mean to " love your neighbor as yourself"? Pastor Chris dives into that and more in the second week of this series.

What does it mean to truly love our neighbors? Matthew 5:43-44 says, “ You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you… ”

In football, if you fumble the handoff, the results can be detrimental to the team. The same is true regarding our children and faith. We need to make sure the passing of Jesus, faith and truth to the next generations is a clean and precise handoff.

We cannot overemphasize the impact of Godly parents.  As parents, we won’t be perfect but we can be intentional. We need to be committed to verbal communication and visible demonstration.

So much of who we are today is connected to our past and our parents. We cannot overemphasize the impact of Godly parents. 

We must reach the next generations because they are the present and future of the Church.
