EatScripture - Ep 145 (w/o background music) - Psalms - Psalm 19 02.04.2022 30:15
There are 3 parts to this wonderful Psalm: 1) How the natural universe declares God's glory; 2) How the written Word declares God's glory; 3) How this revelation from God is beneficial for those who seek to stay close to Him.

EatScripture - Ep 144 (w/o background music) - Psalms - Psalm 9 & 10 - pt 2 29.03.2022 29:21
Psalm 10 is the 2nd part of Psalm 9. The acrostic that we began to look at in Psalm 9 is continued in Psalm 10 with one notable deviation. By seeing the Psalms together a better picture is painted of two sides of a coin - praise/lament, order/chaos, God's nearness/absence (?).

EatScripture - Ep 143 (w/o background music) - Psalms - Psalm 9 & 10 - part 1 26.03.2022 30:39
As we continue in the Psalms, this episode and the next are tied together. Psalm 9 & 10 are written with one acrostic, which means that this writer has used the Hebrew alphabet as a framework for uniting the two Psalms in their entirety. But more than that, he has gotten very creative with his use of letters and symbols. The stunning combination of the two Psalms is astounding.

EatScripture - Ep 142 (w/o background music) - Psalms - Psalm 8 22.03.2022 29:04
Psalm 8 is a great place to see the glory of God and what He has done to establish people as His imagers in creation. It is also a great place to find Jesus as the One who is given dominion over all things forever. How can it be both? Let's take a look.

EatScripture - Ep 141 (w/o background music) - Psalms - Psalm 2 19.03.2022 28:31
Psalm 2 would certainly be used in a coronation of a King of Israel. But it's most obvious connection would be to The King of Israel whose coronation took place after His earthly death.

EatScripture - Ep 140 - Psalms - Psalm 1 15.03.2022 29:03
Psalm 1 is the introduction to the book of Psalms. It's emphasis on the Law of the Lord is a call to action for all of God's people. Being known by the Lord has everything to do with staying close to Him in His Word.

EatScripture - Ep 138 - Gospel of Luke - Luke 24:44-53 08.03.2022 32:15
The Gospel of Luke closes with more talk from Jesus about how His story is found in every part of God's Word. And why does this Gentile writer include this part at the very end about worshiping in the Temple?

The Emmaus walk continues and concludes with a beautiful scene reminiscent of The Lord's Supper and the opportunity we all have to meet Him there. Jesus also appears to many disciples at once bringing peace and confirming his bodily resurrection.

What does Jesus mean, on the road to Emmaus, when he says "Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer...?" When he elaborates on all the scriptures and how they relate to him, what importance is there for the modern believer?

The tomb is empty. Early disciples are being reminded of what Jesus said...even from his own mouth.

EatScripture - Ep 134 (w/o background music) - Gospel of Luke - Luke 23:39-56 22.02.2022 31:20
The criminal is accepted by Jesus on the cross, darkness covers the land, the temple curtain is torn in two, a centurion pronounced Jesus' innocence, a council member buries him.
