Earth-2.net Presents...

Happy New Year! As has become tradition, we usher in the New Year with an annual "best of" episode. So this week, grab a drink or seven and join me as I run down my top books, television, podcasts, comics, movies, and other releases of 2022. We have some hopes for 2023 to talk about as well. As always, the episode is scored by music from Dread Media's favorite albums of the year. Bring on 2023! Se...

In the first episode of 2023, Dan and Mike look at the short-lived Birds of Prey TV show from 2002, then they gush over Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Please visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/earth_2.

Dan and Mike provide a commentary track for one of the wildest episodes of GI Joe: A Real American Hero: "Cold Slither," the Reagan-era anti-metal episode that is somehow actually metal AF. Please visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/earth_2.

In the last episode of 2022 and the first swear-free one so far, Christian and Donovan get reacquainted with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - one of Disney's most beloved and faithful adaptations of a literary property. (Also, Christian mixes up Galactus and Thanos. Oh bother.)

The three-part project of the 2022 Greatest Britons culminates with Ian and Tom revealing the ultimate list of their 100 Greatest Britons, the ones who just missed out, and the entrants from 2002 who didn't have a hope in Hell of remaining on the ballot 20 years later. We learn which entries inspired the hosts to do more research, and exactly to what end the 2022 picks are more enlightened in term...

Thanks to Donovan Morgan Grant we have three roundtable interviews with the cast and creators of Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm: 1. Dana Snyder and Carey Means, 2. Dave Willis, and 3. Matt Maiellaro. Please visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/earth_2.

Hannah and Jim join The Show today to discuss Black Stars Rise, the Lady Astronauts book series, lots of conventions, and more! Please visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/earth_2.

Picking back up from their previous episode on the 100 Greatest Britons, Ian Wilson and Tom Hemmings reveal the second half of their lists as to who they truly consider to be the Top 50 greatest people from their part of their world. These include both notable omissions and picks that draw ridicule, but just because you will know the individual lists of the hosts by the end of the episode, that do...

Will and Skyler begin their Yuletide Festivities as they watch Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas. What starts as a discussion of a Christmas tie-in film of a soap opera quickly becomes a discussion of one couple's stamina, confusing relationship rhombuses, and Jackee Harry. This week on the show, it's episode 800 so Tom and Desmond hail to the king, baby! Sit back and enjoy our coverage of one of the weirdest franchises ever: Evil Dead! We go back to 1981 where it all began in The Evil Dead, and follow it with reviews of Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead (2013), and even Ash vs The Evil Dead. Songs that will swallow your soul: "Evil Dead" by Deat...

Will and Skyler get into some Santa Shenanigans as they review Santa Claus: The Movie. In between talking about some padded sequences and hammy acting, they also find time to talk about Flintstones Christmas Logistics, Illegal Candy, and one of the darkest openings to a family film ever. In 2002, the BBC polled the British public as to who they considered to be the 100 Greatest Britons of all time. Because this poll did not include a 17-year-old Ian Wilson nor a 19-year-old Tom Hemmings, the two men in question, now in their late 30s, set about to right this wrong by beginning their own countdown of who they consider the 100 Greatest Britons. This episode sees the hosts countdown...

Due to the results of the 2021 Tomlinson Awards, the Most Anticipated Actor for 2022, Natalie Portman, receives the full HAA treatment from The Brothers Wilson. The three films on the docket: sweary, sex-play adaptation Closer; whacky underage assassin Leon: The Professional; and scary, avian-based dance horror Black Swan. Which film leaves both hosts lukewarm, and which inspired many a 90s action...

Ho Ho Holy shit, what a bad movie?! This week, as is tradition, Desmond and Duane ring in the holiday season with a review of a Christmas horror film. This week, it's David Hess's first and only film as a director: To All a Good Night. But, because the movie pretty much blows, they instead rundown their own favorite Christmas horror films in an impromptu double Dread Media Top 5 tucked into a revi...

Oo-de-lally! Ian returns to Part of Your World, where the firstborn Wilson and the eldest Honore heir assess Robin Hood. How does Disney's animal adaptation of the medieval legend fare against those of Flynn, Costner, Crowe, and others, and why is it seen as more of misfire than a bullseye by some Disney fans?

We're all about getting that educational content in under the wire as we take a look at the UK's Video Nasty era! We open with 2021's Censor, a film set during the height of the controversy. Then, we look at two of the films directly affected by the censorship laws of the day: 1968's Night of the Living Dead and 1972's The Last House on the Left. This week on the show, the amazing Lynn Lowry stops by to talk about her incredible film career from I Drink Your Blood all the way up to Guns of Eden and beyond. Stories abound from directors like David Cronenberg, George A Romero, Paul Schrader, and Greg Lamberson. Speaking of Greg Lamberson, he stops by to take part in a dual Dread Media Top 5 Action Films. All that, plus tunes: "The Fever" by...

From all of us at WHXN 37 to all of you, happy holidays! We're celebrating with some of the finest examples of blessings and tidings and cheer and all that, starting with 2000's A Diva's Christmas Carol! After that, we will hear nothing against 2017's A Christmas Prince! Email: info@channel-37.com Twitter: @WHXN37

This week on Dread Media, we present a double feature of brand new rock documentaries. Here's the rundown: first Desmond and Duane enjoy the definitive documentary on the legendary art collective / metal band / alien Scumdogs on a rampage in This is GWAR. Then, Desmond goes solo on a Dread Media Top 5 GWAR Songs and a review of the Life of Agony documentary The Sound of Scars. Songs included: "The...

Sacre bleu! Emma comes back to help Christian cover The Aristocats, the first Disney film released during the 1970s and the first entry in the studio's Bronze Age. (Or, depending on who you ask, its first Dark Age.) Along the way, Pandy chimes in with his thoughts on the film, Emma suggests a highly original (and tasty) way to grade movies, and both of les Honores have R-rated theories about Uncle...

We've got animation from across the globe for you this week! Fantastic Planet from 1973 will make you laugh! It will make you cry! It will make you think someone might have put something in your Fruity Pebbles! After that, recapture the feeling of looking for Japanese boobie cartoons in a shabby video store while we look back on 1986's Project A-Ko! Email: info@channel-37.com Twitter: @WHXN37

This week on the show, we're looking at two very different crime stories. First, Desmond and Tom take on the sexy pulp villain Diabolik in his new film. Then Desmond goes solo on the gritty southern noir novel The Devil Takes You Home by Gabino Iglesias. Songs included: "Underwater Wah Wah" by Ennio Morricone, "Deep Down" by Mike Patton, "The Devil in Mexico" by Murder by Death, and "Cursed to Die...

This week, Tom and Desmond scrape the bottom of the barrel with two great reviews of two awful films. First up, the Uruguayan mockumentary (?) Straight to VHS. Then we look at the half found-footage disaster Uncharted. No, not THAT Uncharted. Then there's feedback and music: "Nasty" by The Damned, "Ditch" by Lamb of God, "Jaguar God" by Mastodon and "Make You Suffer" by Mountain Goats. Send feedba...

Yoo-hoo-hoo! Tom Hemmings reunites with Christian to cover The Jungle Book - the last film Walt Disney helped bring to fruition, and home to Beatlesque barbershop quartets, potentially problematic primates, and the greatest villain with Khan in his name (search your feelings; you know it to be true). Plus, The Transatlantic Two weigh in on Walt's life, legacy, and less-than-laudable actions, and T...

We're coming together as one to battle the forces of evil this week on The Midnight Movie Show! Follow Barry Bostwick into hell and back, even as he does that weird thing with his thumb, in 1982's Megaforce! After that, we're going to look in on Wish.com's Robocop in 1990's Super Force, but stick with us anyway! Email: info@channel-37.com Twitter: @WHXN37
