Since graduating, Josh Ruggles ('19) started Prosper Basketball, a training organization that has helped hundreds of athletes of all ages and skill levels push themselves to be the best version of themselves, personally and athletically, which makes him our March 2024 Duhawk Dozen recipient.   

Isaac Sturm (’17) comes from a long line of Duhawks. From his parents to two siblings and his high school sweetheart, now wife, the Sturm Family is filled with Duhawks. His mother, and long-time Loras accounting professor Karen (Gonner) Sturm (’80), wanted to make sure Isaac found the place he wanted to call home for the next four years so with the help of Iowa Private College Week and a Casey’s G...

Much like other students, Loras checked all the boxes for 2014 graduate Teresa (Gwardys) Gray and quickly became her home away from home. With the motto “Duhawks Supporting Duhawks” and faith at the forefront of all she does, the Young Alumni Advisory Board is excited to name her as our December 2023 Duhawk Dozen recipient. 

Andy Ney (’14) has built an impressive career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and it started long before graduating from Loras College. From growing up with his father and mother as strong role models as they created Paramount Ambulance, to helping mold the family business to what it is today. 2013 graduate, Daniel Thole, sought a Catholic education, a strong community, and a robust math program when choosing his college. These values continue to shape his life a decade after leaving Loras, earning him the title of our October Duhawk Dozen.

Ali Burgmeier ('17) is the September addition to the Duhawk Dozen. The Duhawk Dozen are 12 Graduates Of the Last Decade (GOLD) that are nominated by their peers and selected by our Young Alumni Advisory Board to be recognized for their outstanding achievements within one of the four Loras Dispositions: Active Learning, Reflective Thinking, Responsible Contributing and Ethical Decision Making.

Jeanie Kasper ('14) is the August addition to the Duhawk Dozen.
