[PREVIEW] Exquisite Suffering 126: Montezuma's Revenge 18.10.2021 5:00
People likely voted for this episode because the game is named after diarrhea. I'm sorry to report that there's not as much bodily function talk in this episode as you'd think there would be. Although this might come as a relief to most of you.
Abject Suffering 425: Monster Garden 18.10.2021 49:30
This game isn't bad, but it's really not for us. You play as a monster who wants to grow his garden, which means going into little pocket dimensions to make friends to bring back home. This turns into a message game about how to be a better friend to yourself... but it's all very basic, and the writing clangs on our taste. So instead, we talk about some strange encounters Gary recently had in Port...
[PREVIEW] Adaptation Decay 55: Silent Hill: Revelation 17.10.2021 5:00
There are some nice things to be said about the original Silent Hill movie. It has pacing and script problems, but its production design is both high quality AND faithful to the games. When it came time to make a followup, they whiffed every single aspect of it. Sharon from the first movie is all grown up, and Silent Hill wants her back. At least we think it does, it's very self-contradictory.
[PREVIEW] Bonfireside Chat 192: Grime (Part 2) 17.10.2021 5:00
This week we continue playing the excellent Soulsike Metroidvania game Grime, heading through the rock nursery of Lithic before meeting the godlike Shidra and venturing into the meaty, nervy bowels where the Feasters dwell.
Everything to Guppy 757: Wormwood 17.10.2021 19:07
Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.
Days of Future Cast 273: Crowlossus (Avengers vs X-Men: Versus #3) 16.10.2021 27:35
Avengers vs X-Men: Versus #3 - Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have th...

[PREVIEW] Watch Out for Fireballs! 334: Resident Evil 8 (Premium) 15.10.2021 56:41
Ethan Winters vs Magneto and a hot topic creepy doll? And it's good? What the heck? This direct follow up to RE7 is a love letter to the series, featuring an impressive array of bosses and locations that evoke the series high points. While Ethan Winters remains as compelling as some kind of unintelligent wad of white bread, the cast of colorful weirdos around him defines the game. Check it out! T...
Watch Out for Fireballs! 333: Silent Hill 14.10.2021 2:57:39
A god incubated by pain and hate creates a paradise of blood and rust around it, and that's what Harry Mason must run through to save his daughter. This classic survival horror game didn't just start a series, it influenced the aesthetics of most horror games that came after it. Though the series wouldn't find its legs until Silent Hill 2, this entry is still worth your time, and it's a great deal...

Abject Suffering 424: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes 11.10.2021 48:24
We've only made this mistake once before, but there was a calendar whoopsie. So while we primarily talk about Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, we also get a little bit of Princess Tomato and the Salad Kingdom. A minor misunderstanding gives way to discussions of frightening produce and the ravages of age.

Watch Out for Fireballs! 332: ECHO 07.10.2021 1:41:02
Thank you Jeremy! This is a weird one! En, a member of a hyper capable cult of child somethings tries to revive her dead friend(?) who is also a cube(!) The story, lore, and world-building in this game are really quite great but the play never comes together. Listen in to hear why! Support Watch Out for Fireballs!

Abject Suffering 423: Peasant's Quest 04.10.2021 33:27
Kole may not be able to convince Gary that Homestar Runner is funny, but at least we can both agree that the porn game that's also named Peasant's Quest is gross as heck.
