The wheels are in motion as Franz and Paul go a-muse-ing down the pink mylar road back to the 1980 electric roller boogie song 'n' dance extravaganza XANADU!  Big Band meets Rock 'n' Roll!  Dame Olivia Newton-John meets Sir Jeff Lynne!  Chocolate meets Peanut Butter!  Don't walk away from this one, folks!

The heat is on and the AC is off as we execute the perfect plan in no time flat.  Sidney Lumet, Al Pacino, and NYC re-team for the sweatiest dog day's journey into night in which Sonny climbs to sunnier climes.  The Drive-In Garage can make it happen!

This week, Franz and Paul don't fight the enemy, they fight themselves.  Oliver Stone spent over ten years working on PLATOON, pulling from his own combat experience as well as Homeric Myth.  It's fierce, frustrating, grandiose, unmistakable Oliver.  So, into the 'Nam we go!  The Drive-In Garage can't even remember when they were 332.  Bravo Six Out.

We enter the Cimino-verse with the remarkable 1974 crime drama, THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT, starring Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges.  And we unpack the fascinating key points, dynamics, and major attractions of the '70s Buddy Movie subgenre.  Franz and Paul don't want your watch, man. They want your friendship!

Well we're broodin' on up (north) to the Somafree Institute to talk about David Cronenberg's chilly family divorce-a-palooza, THE BROOD!  Along the way we encounter the Soberfree Oliver Reed, the Navelfree Ragelings, phenomenal earth tone interior design, and the saddest little girl in the world.  If you can't stand the brood, get outta the kitchen!

Franz and Paul are not heroes, just men who follow orders. The siege mentality is on full display in John Carpenter's 1976 Hawksian urban warfare classic.  The gentle "thhp! thhp!" of silencers obscures the chaos as we slowly realize that, on a cosmic level, we ALL wanted vanilla twist.

Tonight at the Drive-In Garage, love exists among the stars as we dive into '70s hazy-sunlit suburbia, have our prom tickets withheld, and thrill to the unmitigated power of Sissy & Piper!  We also try to determine if Miss Collins is the true villain of the movie.  THEY'RE ALL GONNA LISTEN TO YOU!  THEY'RE ALL GONNA LISTEN TO YOU!
